Mostly open, great for distance shots and power shots. Good practice course. Grass cut. Even though mostly in the open, lots of places to loose your disc. Lots of woods on the out skirts of the holes. Tee boxes are great size, and concrete.

Baskets not clearly marked. Wrong hole number on baskets as they have been moved. Signs look great, but not updated at all. One tee didn't even have any baskets on it. Paths not clearly marked. Course needs to be updated.

The large lake on the left of a few of the shots is very nerve racking. Lost a disk on one of the holes, and never saw it again.

Edmund Orgil is set on a very nice and spacious section of land apart from the rest of the park. The park and course itself was very nice and was well-taken care of. There were good concrete tees and basket were in good shape. It plays mostly in the open with scattered trees and a little elevation as obstacles. There are a couple of holes that play near the lake, but it really doesn't come into play. The biggest challenges are the holes that play over the creeks, including one that is blind.

Most of the holes were essentially wide open and it did become repetitive and lacked excitement from one tee to the next. Some holes played really close the road, which is usually not a good idea. There were a couple of low marshy areas, but it had just rained recently. And there were some long walks between several of the holes.

I am not sure what level of player this course suits- most of the holes are good for lower level players with little chance to hit trees or lose discs, but then the tougher holes with water and rough might keep many away. Advanced players will probably not have enough of a challenge to keep them interested between the 3-4 really interesting holes.

Though a nice course as far as the land and upkeep goes, it was nothing special when you consider overall hole design. If you are passing through it could be worth a stop, but there are much better courses in the Memphis area. However, it does provide a nice contrast to the nearby Valentine Park course.

-Nice tee pads and very good signage
-Some picturesque holes along the lake and through some light woods
-Enough distance to challenge most players and enough trees to provide obstacles

-Long walks between several holes
-A few tee signs missing
-Some of the holes seem repetitive, playing along road, relatively open, etc.

This is a well-maintained course on a lot of land, unfortunately it does not seem to flow well. The creek along number 12 is a disc-gobbler and quite close to the entire fairway and basket. We had a disc fall out of someone's bag and roll into it. A few really nice holes (I like 8-9, 11 and 14) are outnumbered by some of the open-park sameness of the others. But all in all worth playing if you are in the area.
