Pros:
- Solid Discatcher Baskets that are well-installed.
- NEW FULL SIZE Concrete Tees on a few of the holes that previously were limited to dirt/grass
- DIY Hole signs give hole number/footage to increase navigability.
- Plenty of Parking at the church lot adjacent to the course.
- OB areas w/ ditches and gravel beds (If you play them) make some shots more interesting.
- Only course out on the West End of Billings (Besides Diamond X which kinda sorta doesn't count)
- Mixture of distances also creates some diversity.
Cons:
- Location is certainly not the most ascetically pleasing, very close to a busy road.
- Most shot shapes are either straight at the basket or subtle hyzers, so definite lack of diversity there.
- Large ditches on some holes could potentially result in lost discs.
- Concrete pavers around gravel beds could potentially damage discs.
- Some overlapping holes does potentially create a hazard for people getting hit with wayward discs.
Other Thoughts:
In general I think EBC DGC is a "decent" course. Yes, it is nothing special, but it is entirely playable and provides another 9 hole course in the Billings area which is nothing to complain about at all. Will this course excite you and challenge you compared to other options in the area ? No, probably not, but EBC made good use of the land that they have and have made some general improvements to the course over the last couple of years.
Bottom line: If you are a regular disc golfer in Billings, this one is worth playing to add some diversity to your game. If you are driving through Billings and only have time to play 1-2 courses, EBC should not make your list - I'd focus instead on Pioneer Park or Diamond X.
