Game of Thorns 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 14, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well manicured fairways and zero golf traffic in a public park. Baskets are not all the same but in decent shape. Concrete tee pads were a nice surprise for a course like this.

Cons:

1 - Some of the worst thorns I have ever seen lining the majority of the fairways. If you miss you bleed.

2 - Zero creativity to the holes. Basically playing in a open field until you hit the last few thorn lined disasters.

3 - hole 7 has no actual lines to play and the tee box is covered in poison ivy.

4 - No hole markings, just a sign showing what tee box you are on.

5 - the basket for hole 5 is hiding in a bush in front of 8's basket and if you don't know where it is you will throw past it to 8 from the tee.

6 - huge ticks

Other Thoughts:

I've never seen such a punishing course for missing a fairway. Especially for a neighborhood beginer level course. Good chance if you miss the fairway you won't be getting your disc back. Yes, the thorns are really that bad. Bring a retriever and wear long pants. Or, better yet. Go somewhere else.

Terrible Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 25, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

There is never really any traffic and you are able to play at whatever pace you desire.

Cons:

Holes are all very short and poorly arranged/designed. There are patches of super dense thicket with tons of thorns that love to swallow discs. Even if you can see the disc, there is no getting it out! Course is poorly managed and basket conditions are rough.

Other Thoughts:

My brother and I were playing and 2 discs were lost in the immensely dense patches of thicket within the first 5 holes. I think playing this course once was more than I wanted. If you are in this area, definitely go to Riverside DGC.
