Absolutely fantastic experience 2+ years

Pros:

-The open field holes are fun and scoreable but interesting. Decisions off the tee are presented and constitute a real birdie/bogey or safe par dilemma.
-The wooded holes on the hill are truly whack. All the fairways are fair but challenging, the real difficulty however is hitting your line AND managing the groundplay on 45 degree sidehills or inclines/declines. Rollaways are to be expected and are the most punishing aspect of this section of the course. Severe downhills also force creative lines, I saw gentle putts off the tee that glode all the way down the hill never to be seen again. Upside down throws are your friend.
-The teepad surfaces are really good, some kind of grit bound by a rubber mat. Super happy.
-The facilities there are delightful. This place absolutely is a resort with great food, great sleeping arrangements and great surroundings.
-The owners love and support disc golf. At the event I played they made sure that discs were retrieved all the way throughout the day from rough, trees and the stream flowing through the course. They also provided breakfasts every morning and put on great entertainment over the weekend. They put on a fantastic show and I'm sure they would make a great experience for casual players also.

Cons:

-This place is well expensive to buy into the full experience and it's definitely very secluded. Individual rounds themselves appear to cost £6, but a full experience with accomodation, food and travel will definitely amount to more. A package experience when they're putting on an event is highly recommended however!
-Discs will get lost. Between the hill, the rough and the water in play it will happen. They appear to be fantastic at trying to retrieve discs however. The hill is shouldn't be played alone.
-The wooded holes could be longer in places. On some of the 40-60m holes it felt like hitting first available wasn't nearly as badly punished as being just off on a putt.
-The hill is definitely a massive physical challenge and not to be underestimated. Slips, trips and falls are a real danger and even just marching around or maintaining balance is very tough on the joints.
-All the road signs in the area have firmly too many consonants.

Other Thoughts:

-The local town of Newcastle Emlyn has an indian restaurant that has cooked for the Queen. Get the spicy honey butter chicken. I can't stop thinking about it.
-I'd have loved to have more time outside of competition to play the hillside holes and find more aggressive plays, but it was definitely objective:survive because of the tournament. I'll be watching the CCDG coverage with great interest when it comes out.
-This place is just really special. So many signature holes and just one crazy experience.
