- Lovely site - river at the back of the course, rolling hills, wide open fields. Probably gorgeous when the leaves are changing.
- Some mix of shots/terrain (flat, hilly, field, wooded).

- Gazebo-thingie up front with scorecard/maps, snacks, drinks, disc rentals ($1), minis for sale, picnic tables.

- Course is small-ish - 9 holes, most of which are less than 300-350ft. There are a couple of longer ones, but most are short and fairly straight ahead.
- Three or four of the holes are repetitive - straight line from the tee to the basket, 250-350ft.
- No bathroom/portajon (course plays quickly but be aware).

This is a nice little course nestled away in a field/woods in a beautiful part of Maine that makes for a fun and quick play-through. I played through twice on a nice sunny Saturday at the end of July '11 (took about an hour). The course was nearly empty but was obviously well maintained. At the parking area there's a concrete platform with a roof over it housing an honor box for paying your fees, maps/scorecards, a cooler full of drinks, a tray of chips and other snacks, and a couple crates of loaner discs. There's also a couple picnic tables so you can take a load off between rounds. The grass (lots of it!) had been recently mowed into nice clean fairways and short scruffy roughs, and all the baskets were in excellent shape. The course plays quickly and intuitively with smooth transitions from each basket to the next tee. An added plus was a handful of benches at various points around the course, which really contributes to the relaxed feel of the place.
As far as shot variety, several of the holes fall into the "short and straight" category - the basket is 250-350ft in front of the tee and not too far off center. There are two decent long downhill shots with woods on one or both sides (both with a river 20-30ft behind the basket to punish overshooting), one open uphill shot, a dense wooded shot, a wooded uphill shot, and a long woods-to-field shot with a hard left in the middle. So there's a fair representation of hole types available, but it'd be nice to see the woods and elevation put into play a bit more. I think there's probably room for 9 more holes here or at least some alternate tee layouts, but only at the risk of criss-crossing the existing layout.
All in all, this would be a great course to have in your backyard. It's quick to play through and probably a little simple for the more experienced player, but the mellow atmosphere and lovely setting encourage just hanging out and tossing some discs. Probably a great place to bring new disc-ers, younger players, or families. If I play it again, I'll pack a lunch and plan to play 2 or 3 rounds with long breaks to enjoy the fields and river.
