Pros:
Firestone Park is a 50+ acre park in the heart of Columbiana. It's a mostly open space with occasional scattered trees and a few rolling hills.
+ There are two sets of tees. The red tees, contrary to the usual, are the long tees. The green tees are the short tees. These tees are unique from each other on most holes, offering differing shot variations. This is especially true on #7, where the red tee shoots through a tunnel, and the green tee shoots through a larger gap outside of the tunnel.
+ There is plenty of room to "air it out" here. There's a good mix of hole distance, but most are pretty wide open (see cons).
+ #7 is a fun tunnel shot that kind of comes out of the blue. As mentioned earlier, the two sets of tees provide completely different ways to play the hole.
Cons:
- There aren't any permanent tee pads or signs. Each box is marked with two ground markers that resemble a ball golf course. They do at least have QR codes you can scan for a map and course information.
- There is a noticeable lack of trees here, so as you could imagine, it might be easy to score well.
- There are no navigational signs, so you'll have to follow either the map on the QR code, or UDisc.
Other Thoughts:
Firestone Park is a typical open park course. It would be nice to see a final investment to install tees and signs. Nothing overly special, but worth a try if you're in the area.
