Pros:

Five Seasons is home to an 18 hole course, with the option of making it 20 by playing the last two yard holes. I'd recommend this, as did the owner, since you need to walk this area anyway to get back your vehicle. The course is less than a year old as of this review. It's been on my radar for almost that entire time due to it's location near my workplace, and the general lack of courses in this area.

The baskets are white Dynamic Veterans. These are all brand new and catch great. All of them were mounted nice and perfectly level. I'm a big fan of the white baskets as these are generally one of the better colors to see in the warmer months, they really pop up with a mostly green backdrop. The last two holes are different. Hole 19 is another DD Veteran, this one is red, white and blue though. Hole 20 is an Axiom practice basket. No complaints since these are essentially bonus holes.

The navigation is very straightforward. There's tee signs being made at the moment. As it currently stands there's just wood stakes with the hole number and distance written on them. More than enough as is, but I'm not going to argue about adding signs. There was only a few longer walks between holes. All were marked very well though.

The course design is top notch honestly. There's some subtle elevation here. It is central WI, we don't have much around here. But what is here is used nicely. The thing that stood out the most to me was the balance between RHBH and RHFH tee shots. Better than most courses around here, or anywhere I've been really. The front nine ends right by the parking area to which is always a bonus.

The tee pads were interesting, and something I don't recall ever seeing. These are pirate plank pads. I liked them though. They look like concrete from a distance but are some kind of concrete and wood mixture or something. I don't really know tbh, but these were great. All were in great shape and these were what was on every hole besides the two yard holes. Those were just grass. There are long positions on many, if not all the holes, on the Udisc map. These are all natural currently.

This area of the state is very rural. You'll be taking some gravel roads in spots to get here. That being said you're not going to hear anything but nature out here. Well, maybe a tractor too. But the enviroment and general vibe is great out here. It's just you and the woods around you. Gorgeous setting.

We played the course on December 30th of a surprisingly mild start to the winter. The course was in unbelievable shape though.

There's benches scattered throughout the course which is always appreciated.

Cons:

I don't have much to be completely honest. I'll start with the fact that the course isn't always available. They host other activities out here at certain times. You'll need to call ahead to make sure the course is available for play. Not really a con, more a heads up.

The tee pads were slick in a few spots. I'm going to chalk this up to the strange temps we've had recently. And honestly these were better than concrete pads in the same type of conditions. The tees were a little bit on the shorter side if you have a James Conrad run up or something. Perfectly suitable for the distances out here though. I had zero issues with these. Some probably will so I'll mention it.

The front nine is the newer nine and has some areas that retain water a bit more currently. Again, work in progress though.

If you plan on playing here be sure to bring whatever you need with you. You're going to be pretty far away from any gas stations.

Other Thoughts:

This course was a pleasant surprise. I'd been scoping it out on Udisc for months now. I've always had something come up when I wanted to play it, or it was gun deer season lol. You never know with these homemade courses what you're going to get. This one is top tier. I was shocked how well this course looked and played, After being in the ground for LESS than a year.

This was my 370th course played in WI and I can honestly say this is one of the most impressive ones I've seen. I chatted with Eric during our round and you're not going to meet a nicer guy. This is a pretty large property and there may be plans for another course at some point. The way he got this one in the ground in such a short time is impressive. I'll be making this a part of my local rotation of courses for sure. Loved it.

If you do play here make sure to make a donation. This is a labor of love and it shows in the design. Five seasons does all sorts of activities too, for great causes. They hosted a tournament last February and are doing so again this year to benefit the local veteran non profit.
