Not Playable 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 11, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

None

Cons:

It's a middle school "course"
Baskets are smashed and bent, most are leaning
only 3 baskets

Other Thoughts:

This course is not a course at all, it's a 3 basket set up in a field at Fruita Middle School. The baskets are short, bent, and 2 of the 3 are leaning. Not really sure you can classify this as a course. I was playing it while my son was practicing with his baseball team.

Five Baskets Set Around The Athletic Fields? 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 17, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Fruita Middle School has five baskets set around the perimeter of the school's athletic fields which consists of two football fields sitting side by side. There is a small strip in between the fields with a few large evergreen trees. A basket placed here would have added to the possibilities.

Being on a middle school campus, one of the baskets has taking a licking. There are no signs and the tee pads seem to whatever concrete structures can be found such as round discus or shot putt pads.

According to the DGCR information sheet, the course is to be played as five holes in a counter clockwise direction, then play four back in a clockwise direction. OK?

Cons:

Hole # 4 actually is placed in the end zone of the football on that side. I take this mean that this football field is NEVER used for any practices, games or anything else.

Many of the baskets are placed close to the fence where middle school students would be flinging their discs over the fence. This is another of those course where there the terrain is so flat and boring, a course could not be interesting or fun to play here.

Other Thoughts:

Even placing one basket in the strip of land between the two football fields could have added some interest. It would have given you the possibility of a one or two shorter holes. Holes that middle school students could actually reach off the tee.

Another possibility would have been to place a basket over the schools front lawn but I guess the admin probably wouldn't haven't have wanted one there.

I would very curious to see if this course gets any play during PE classes.

I don't predict a great future for this course here. I see these baskets slowing getting trashed and this course coming to a slow, painful death by total lack of interest.
