Course is easily follow except for hole #6. Make sure you throw to correct basket by the shrine. Tee pads are pavers but level and very playable. Variety of shots and elevation add challenge. Front 9 rate an easy 3 Back nine 3.5 more length, shot shaping. 3.25 averaging front & back.

Back nine is not marked well if at all? Most are close to paths so stable footing is available.

Pleasant find after course I went to play was closed. Suggest back 9 map creator update map with existing hole numbers on map to make navigation easier. Worth a play if you're in the area.

The baskets are DB-5's but inner chains have been added and they are playing great. I'd rate the baskets above Mach III's now because the inner chains are more substantial than a Mach III.

The front 9 tee boxes now have pavers installed too.

The grass is always mowed well and the campus is very quiet.

My favorite part of the course is the back 9 alternate layout which doesn't have tee pads, but makes for some interesting and long par 3's.

There's no bathrooms on site for public players.

The back 9 doesn't have paver teeboxes- but honestly it would be too many tee pads in terms of peppering the landscape...

The parking is technically not allowed next to the first hole- a lot of people use that lot, which i've never heard of problems with, but I think the signs indicate that you should be parking down the hill near basket 3- that's a larger lot.

I like this course because it's quiet and the grass is cut nice and low. I still do a legit tick check after i play, but i know there are far less ticks compared to when you play Pye Brook.

Hole 5 is about twice as long as most of the other holes, and super wide open. Great for rollers, or long throwers.

Not a ton of variety or shot shaping beyond hole 1.
Tees are gravel aren't even due to use.

Holes 4 and 2 cross a pedestrian path, watch out. If you want to start at hole 1, turn LEFT (not right), at the fork and park near the retreat building. There is a parking lot right by Tee 1. You can also start with Tee 9 and park at the top of the hill near the main seminary building. They say there is a hard to find back 9, if that's true, it remains a mystery to me.

Tee boxes are filled with sand stone, which packs nicely, but some are uneven in front, either from excessive use, or rain washout. (not a show stopper, but just wanted to mention it).

Read online that there were 18 holes, or at least a different configuration of the first nine, but I could only figure out the first 9 holes.

The last review was 2+ years old, so I thought I would add a recent one.

This is a legitimate 9 hole course, which I enjoyed playing. I will definitely go back here when I am in the area again.

This feels more like a New England college campus than other New England college campuses I've been on. Red brick buildings dot the campus among winding roads and gently rolling hills.

There is some elevation to contend with, and it is used well on hole 3 and hole 9. Although the course is more open than wooded, there are a few good design elements. Hole 3 has a lone tree getting in the way of the easy hyzer route to the basket. A few other holes at least make you consider your line, so the course wasn't designed by someone clueless about disc golf.

There are supposedly alternate tees (or a completely different configuration of these 9 baskets, if I understood correctly) depicted on the course sign, but I never saw the sign. I did see another guy playing from these alternate tees, but they didn't have posts marking where they are.

There are no tee pads at all, just posts in the ground with the tee number. No tee signs, either. Navigation was not simple. Some of the holes are intuitive, but getting from 4 to 5, 5 to 6, and 8 to 9 was less intuitive.

All of the baskets are single chain.
The campus wasn't packed by any means, but there were enough people walking or picnicking to consider. On hole 2 I waited for a walker to pass and decided to walk up the fairway a bit to make sure there was no one else there. Glad I did. There was a mom and some kids just over the first hill. I had to walk halfway up the fairway and tee from there.

This is a seminary, so if you swear when you miss your putt, you may be committing a venal sin.

There is certainly some potential here. It's a big piece of land that may have room for 18 holes. But the course feels like it was done on the cheap (understandable, not everyone can scrape together all the money for great tees, baskets, and signs right away).

Still, if you are on the North Shore and live nearby, you will likely have the place to yourself (I saw one other disc golfer and a few kids fooling around with Frisbees) or close to it.

From the very tight starting hole to the wide open BOMB on hole 5.
For each hole, I liked the placement of the pins. There was a challenge to park the basket but it was possible.

IMO, hole 7 should have a MANDATORY to throw to the LEFT of the tree next to 6's pin. This is a safety issue to avoid throwing over 6's pin to get to 7's.

Park to the east of the LARGE field. You will see a large single tree with a basket under it. (Basket for hole 5). Take a couple of practice shots as you approach this basket. Hole 1 is just to the left at the edge of the trees.

even though the map makes it look flat, its on a hill. dont be fooled. playing through twice was a good workout. considering i threw multiple shots on each hole as the lines are very clear.
every shot has elevation except maybe the long one which is just an open field.

hole 2 is a nice across the hill type. if you hyzer left youll roll out, if you have distance youll place it.
hole 3 is a great downhill open shot. one of my faves here. i threw multiple discs and almost aced.
hole 4 has a couple lines and definitely could be aced.
hole 5 is the big par 4 open field shot. throw a couple or more and test the arm.
hole 6, 7, 8, all play out on the upper hill area, with tree obstacles. par is fair game, birdies are around.
hole 9 is maybe the signature hole here, a big downhill shot, with risky rough on the left , i came close to acing after emptying my 10 disc bag. even putters could go in.


there are posts with numbers that make navigation possible. back 9 are just pavers set into the ground and can be hard to find without guidance.
shade trees help in the summer heat.

( UPDATE there are 9 alt tees that make the course even better! ) (didn't know about them when I wrote my initial review!)
i will be back to play it, not just because it is the closest disc golf to where i'm staying to visit family, but because it tests your game. a deceptively simple course that makes you sweat a little.

the guys on staff were very friendly and supportive of discers. they were excited that i was there to play. i was told there are eventually 9 more holes going in, and that "they are going to be in the woods, you know , to make it haaaada") (harder.)
