Pros:
Cement Tee pads
Signs coming soon (polls were in, no signs yet)
DD Vet baskets were brand new
Some interesting shots
Cons:
Some very boring shots
Throwing over roads
Throwing near/over private yards
Long walks between some of the holes
Other Thoughts:
I have played 1780 courses but only one course ever like this that was not made up on the spot. (There is a very small putter course in OKC that plays around a city block where you are going to hit someone's car if you play on a weekday)
This is an urban course, you are literally throwing through town.
You start off in a park, then by a ballfield, to some church lots. Then from a football field to a vacant lot.
Then to a small green area at the entrance to the town.
Then a couple of shots next to the sewage retention ponds and a hole next to a levee. Walk back down to a vacant lot and the last hole throws down the street next to the public restrooms in the small park.
It's a trip, you got some walks between some of the holes.
it's not really a challenging course, only a couple of longer holes. The biggest thing is trying to land safe on some of the holes. I actually enjoyed playing. The kids got out of school as I was playing and most of them said hi to me as I was playing. Very friendly bunch.
Would I play here again? mixed bag on this one. While I enjoyed playing the course, I would not go out of my way to play here again. But if I was driving though town, I might stop in again just for fun.
yes, normally I would be trashing a course like this, but this is a small town not even on a major highway. I would actually recommend stopping and playing this course if you are nearby just because of the crazy layout and you will never see another course like it.
