High-Zer Hill

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 4, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Lots of variety here for a piece of farm land in Indiana. First part of the course plays through scattered large trees then the course has a bit of hills. There's three water carry holes over a pond after that that will absolutely test you if you don't have the arm. End of the course finishes up with a few ones in the woods which Scott said he wanted to add a few more back there eventually. Course finishes up with some longer throws in the open. Wind will definitely make or break you here.

- Owner is very friendly and will play a round with you which is good because a guide is needed even if you are using uDisc. He's also pretty darn good at throwing frisbees so if you're like me, you'll be trailing behind him in score the entire time. Oh and his deaf dog is the sweetest thing ever. She was definitely a treat to have around during my round today. ** Must contact him to play a round here. This is not a course where you can just show up at anytime unannounced **.

- Course is aimed at more advanced players with bigger arms especially on the water carries. There's only two par 4 holes and they are definitely a couple of beasts but still very manageable and fair. The shorter holes are in the wooded portion but even one of those required a decent length anny or really well-placed forehand to make it to the pin about 250 feet away.

Cons:

- No teepads as of right now. Just all-natural farm grass which isn't the best when you're throwing over water but wasn't too bad today even though it was a little muddy. No signage either but the owner will gladly give you a breakdown of each hole with the pars (You can always check uDisc to get those as well).

- The baskets are just basic two chain Grow The Sport ones I believe which again, aren't the best but they seemed to catch fine.

- The course is wayyyy out there. I mean, there's probably a reason why only two people from this site have bagged it since it was added. There's one other local-ish 9er south of this one in the downtown area of the town but it wasn't very good. There's great reception though.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, this was one of my more favorite private farm land type courses. It wasn't super easy and was pretty challenging but also very fair and well thought out. I think Scott did a great job and I can't wait to see this one expand in the future. There is definitely more room in the back part to add more wooded holes so if that ends up happening, this course could easily jump up to a 3.5. Especially with teepads for at least the water holes.

This one might be out in the boonies, but I would definitely make this my home course if I was local and would even consider making another trip back out in the future. Three thumbs up.
