DG Among the Pines 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 25, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Heavily wooded technical course where even the longer holes demand control. Great atmosphere for honing skills. Proprietor is gracious and generous.

Cons:

Shots near the legendary Wolverine's lair can test your nerves.

Other Thoughts:

Great venue for learning from the older pros and teaching of the newbies. Bring your "A" game.

Dream Round 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 16, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

We called and met with Dangerous Don at the course. It is a beautiful private neighborhood course. Don was a great guide as he lead us around "his" course. Beautiful tall pine trees abound. Small drainage ditch comes into play on a couple of holes. All the holes play to tough pin placements. My favorite is a hanging basket. If your in the area as we were this course is a must play.

Cons:

Don spoke of a "wolverine" which was said to be seen near the garden:)
NO CONS, it was a perfect round with a new friend we found just on a whim.

Other Thoughts:

We were in from out of town and called Don at the last minute. He made us feel right at home... Just do it !!!

Son of Dangerous Acres 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 28, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Don and Paul have crafted a challenging and tough course that is fun to play.

Lots of birdie holes to make up for the difficult heavily-wooded holes.

The company.

Cons:

It's not in MY back yard.

Other Thoughts:

The best course is the one closest to your house. Luckily for me, the closest one to my house is also one I'd travel to play.

Pros:

Great use of trees,
balanced shot requirements,
well protected greens,
cool shade and no wind.

Cons:

Don't play that Don fella for $.
Watch out for CherNoble also.
The other grandmasters of NOTeam
are easy marks.

Other Thoughts:

Challenging layout with fun holes
and the best group of DGers in the country.

Dangerous Don 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 28, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

One of the only tight and technical wooded courses in Louisiana. Right outside my backdoor.

Cons:

No true "crush" in the open air shots. Private property but can be played by calling 985-705-7554, ask for Don.

Other Thoughts:

This is 18 holes on 9 baskets, some used only once, some used multiple times. You will find every hole you can imagine other than wide open spaces. Balanced left/right/blind/long/short. Many protected greens. Great host if I do say so myself!
