Pros:

Course will get Mach 5 baskets in the near future according to the course club. Course is not for the beginner, as most of the holes are over 350 feet, with one over 800.

Excellent Views of the lake. With recent rain fall in CA, the lake level is up and will become potential water hazards.

Play this course first and then the south course.

Eat at the grill and stay the night to play a round of DG in the dark. Bring some glow plastic.

Disc golf pro shop on site with a great selection of discs, bags and apparel!

Cons:

Poison Oak in the rough - be careful if you fling a wild disc.

Other Thoughts:

Parking cost is $7.00 per car.

Played this course as part of a doubles tournament with three groups of doubles starting at every hole. Major cross traffic on the fairways for this large of a group, which made for long wait times at each tee pad.

Pros:

This course is no joke. Be prepared for a fun 2 or 3 hours if playing with 3 or more players. Grab a map at the store/club house. Great views of the lake and surrounding hills. Course is well thought out and map clearly shows location for tee pads, baskets and out of bounds. One hole is 850ft plus, and has a clear view of the basket...good luck getting there though. 14 holes, 13 are brand new baskets, 1 is a propane tank on a pole on the side of a hill. No crowds here, buddy lost a disc there 2 weeks earlier, found it yesterday and it was in the open. Decent arrow signage directing you to the next tee pad. Be sure to grab a bite at the club house grill...you won't be disappointed. Very nice folks working there too. If you plan to play both North and South courses I would recommend the North one first. This course is big, I think we covered a little less the 7 miles.

Cons:

Tee pads could use some work. All are dirt and are identified with a flat log that has the hole # and approximate length carved in it. Taller signs would be better so you could see the pads. It was difficult to find some of the pads even if you were 10ft away.

Other Thoughts:

Love this course, similar to Finnon if you've played there. Lots of elevation change. Be prepared to walk, especially if your disc heads down the hill. This course isn't for beginners you will be searching for your disc in thick brush and walking up and down the hills a ton. If you are a intermediate or better player you will have a blast. If you play both courses you will get your exercise for the week.

Go Lake Amador! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 5, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Unique course, great combo of longer more open shots and 300' technical ones. You will find some incredible elevation changes and shots that have a great view overlooking the lake. When the reservoir is full this course will completely change, and par will increase on multiple holes as water will be in play. Great place to get away from everything, let the dogs off the leash and disappear. Hole 1 is a long straight shot with OB to the left of the cement spillway barrier don't grip lock it into the lake on the right. Hole 2 shoots low and to the right of the road, try to let it float through the window under the trees. Hole 3 is tricky, either put a mid right at it or spike hyzer over the trees. Hole 4 deserves a strong rip go stable and flat, it plays much longer than measured. Hole 5 is a beautiful off the top of the world pull, let it float but don't go right into the brush. Hole 6 is a tunnel anhyzer mando between the trees and my favorite hole on the course. Hole 7 shoots a rhbh hyzer and let it float over the hill, there is a lhbh or sidearm window but watch out for the OB fence. Hole 8 is a tricky one keep it low and try to just hover above the fairway, don't over shoot the approach shot and go over the hill behind the basket. Hole 9 is a sky flick or try to hit the hallway backhand, huge drop off to the left of the basket watch out. Hole Hole 10 is of a whole new breed being almost 900' and shooting off the top of the mountain onto a peninsula with the possibility of water on both sides, crazy! Hole 11 uses the same Tee pad as 6 but the basket is on the left now. Hole 12 is a short uphill shot, mando between the two trees at the top. Hole 13 is elevated and runs along the OB fence line, its hard not to either end up to the left by 2's basket or OB. Hole 14 is signature, shoots through a window in an oak down to a flat surrounded by the spillway gorge watch your step and be careful!

Cons:

Could use better Tee signs and cement Tee pads. Needs to be 18 holes or more. It may get a little hilly for some but not bad.

Other Thoughts:

Once this course goes to 18 or even 27 holes and the pads and signs are done this will be a world class course to play on.
