This course is tucked in next to Lake Lowell, but in spite of the name the lake is not in play. The course is actually across the road from the East Boat Launch, in a little day-use area.

There is a large parking lot, nice restrooms, picnic tables, etc.

Much of the course runs through a lush turf area, surrounded by a chain link fence. Holes in this area (1, 2, and 6-9) are pretty much wide open throws over the lawn with an occasional tree to work around. There are tee signs attached to the perimeter fence, with the pads themselves marked by small pavers buried in the grass nearby.

Hole 3, 4 and 5 are down in a much rougher dry creek channel and are by far the more challenging holes on this course. Hole 3 is bounded by a 6' tall chain link fence on your left and a steep creek bank on your right. The drive from the tee is to a blind basket. Get your drive a little high and you may fade it right over that fence. I noted a gate down toward Hole 4 that will get you past the fence if you need to retrieve a disc.

Hole 5 is similar in that is requires a straight drive to a hidden basket in this rough gully.

Hole 6 drives back up to the grassy area. At first it looks like a steep uphill drive, but the teepad is raised up far enough on the opposite bank that the shot is only slightly uphill.

Overall this is a decent course, with three challenging "gully" holes and 6 less inspiring lawn holes.

The Holes over the lawn are pretty simple, with no real need to shape the drive or hit a gap. The grass is so lush that the tee markers can be tough to find as they're becoming embedded and hidden.

The area over the fence on Holes 3 and 4 seems like a dump area and is pretty trashy. If you throw a drive over there be careful where you step.

This course is pretty far out in the country, and I wouldn't go out of my way to play it again. But given the lack of courses in this area it is great to see it in place.

As mentioned you have 6 typical open field grass holes with a tiny bit of elevation
Then you have 3 holes that are in rough territory and considerably harder
Hole five is a cool shot across the ravine
Nice Mach III baskets
Minimal signage but signage nonetheless

I played to the wrong basket on hole 1
Just a bit more signage or more effort in the signage could improve things (mini basic map of the hole including next tee direction, can be hand drawn even couple are there)
Besides holes 3-5 they are pretty simple shots with minimal tree cover

Not a bad nine hole, uses the space they have very well. Gives you two different experiences in one course. As mentioned previously, you can go for a dip right after.

After hole 2, follow down the dirt path (storyline trail) to hole 3 teepad.

Lake Lowell is Nampa's newest entry into the 9 hole course parade. The course starts on the left side of the park as you enter from the parking lot. There is a mailbox with course maps and scorecards inside. Six holes 1-2-6-7-8-9 play in the upper green, grassy part of the park while 3-4-5 are found down in the lower, less developed lower portion of the park.
The course has new Mach III baskets.

The upper six holes are typical little city park holes ranging in length from # 2 at 150' to # 6 at 290'. These are all very beginner types holes and easy to birdie.
The lower three are rugged and more difficult. # 3 is 275', plays a very tight technical line between some ugly rough on the left and a steep hillside on your right.
Then # 4 is 360' through a brown, dry area.
Then # 5 tees off from high in the corner of the lower level to a basket up on the edge of the upper level. There is just a small window here and any miss will probably leave you in a precarious position at the bottom of the gulch. It's an interesting, fun hole but it's challenge level is more than the rest of the course.
The tee pads for these lower holes are natural outlined in RR ties.

Kind of a Jeckel-Hyde type of course. The upper portion is family friendly and would be great for beginners. The lower three are rougher, more challenging and not so beginner friendly.
Unless the course gets a lot of play, the grass tee pads will probably harder and harder to locate.
The listed Pars are beginner type Pars. Like NAustin writes, these are Par threes anywhere else.

It is an interesting course with the contrast between the upper and lower sections. It just adds another 9 hole course to Nampa's trifecta of 9 holers along with West and the CWI course. I don't lump Osborne in with these three as it plays more like a Intermediate course. Another choice is great and I think Nampa disc golfer will enjoy playing here. A dip into the lake afterward might be refreshing and welcome.

Scorecards and color course maps are available right by Hole #1. This is a big + since this is a brand new course.
This course is as good as any course in Nampa. I think it is an excellent retrofit to an established park with mature landscaping. There is also an informational nature walk along Holes 3-5. Players could bring along kids and family members that weren't throwing and they could enjoy themselves as well.
The course is relatively short, so even though there is a bit of a walk from pin to tee on some holes, its not a hike by any means.
Hole 3 plays like a subway tunnel shot that you don't often see in the West.

Calling this course a par 30 is probably pretty liberal. The score card says Holes 3, 4, and 6 are par 4's. I played the course as if each was a Par-3 and I shot (-1) (1 putting bogey, 2 birdies, and two additional missed birdie putts) and I was not having an amazing round.
We played first thing in the morning and mostly had the park to ourselves. It is possible that the placement of the picnic tables, combined with greater lake and park traffic in the afternoon, could make it difficult to play holes 1, 2, and 9.
This course won't be as rewarding to someone with a big arm who likes to crush long drives.

Holes 3-5 are played in the rough. The tee pads for those holes are dirt, bounded by railroad ties. The other wholes are played on the grass and are simply bricks with the hole number painted on them. It may not be ideal, but it probably lessons the environmental impact of the course. It probably will be hard to find everything in the winter though.
Each hole has a white sign clearly marking the general area where you will find the tee bricks. At least today, the last few holes also had yellow or orange landscaping flags for easier finding.
