Good but Not a destination course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 7, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

- 2 true par5s. 3 true par 4s. 5 of the par3s are pro level.
- great variety of open and technical shots
- pro shop

Cons:

- From the golds, the 7 easy holes are too easy. 3,6,13,15,17 are soft compared to the rest.
- only 7 holes were in "the woods"

Other Thoughts:

Got to respect what this course is trying to do with par4/5s and big distance holes... but those others holes were a big let down. With 4 layouts on the property, I expected the hard course to be quite challenging but it was only half at pro level. Definitely a must play if you live in the area but not really a destination course to me.

Among the Best in Metro Detroit 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 25, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

One of the best courses in the Metro Detroit area. Good enough to be worth making a special trip just to play this course (partly because it has a 2nd very good 18 hole course on site). This is the kind of course I enjoy. It uses all the trees in the best way to make each hole fun and challenging. This apparently use to be a par 3 golf course.

Nice long tees longs and shorts, good baskets, grass mowed down. No real rough to lose discs in. Even the wooded holes have a reasonable if tight lines to be played. With clear enough areas to reasonably find your discs.

As you can see by checking the hole distances you will use every variety of throw with every disc in your bag (most likely).

Another advantage is the fact that you have 2 18 hole courses right next to each other. So you can easily jump to either to avoid long wait times. For me at least I haven't had to wait at even a single tee so far.

Cons:

The only negative imo is hole 10 and 11. The pro tees are unnecessarily long 995 and 880. These imo should just be switched to the Am tees 590 and 475. The reason I say this is because in both holes you are basically throwing the extra distances in open fields.

Other Thoughts:

Throw shop and ample parking directly at the start and ending of both 18 hole courses. I really can't recommend this course enough. If you are anywhere close or are in the area for whatever reason it's well worth your time.

New exciting layout 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 29, 2019 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Unique wooded challenge with 6 new holes built this year.
-Features some truly tough holes (finally, a first for this area).
-Dual tees on many holes allows you to play the layout suited to your skill level.
-Views of the lake, which may come into play on a windy day.
-Well marked, easy to follow (if you actually read the signs).

Cons:

-Just that it's new and we haven't gotten all stumps or landing zones cleared out yet. Very playable, but lots of work left to do to make it shine.
-May occassionally flood (5-6 holes) in the spring, but very easy to skip those holes.

Other Thoughts:

One of two 18-hole courses on site. Gold tees= Long, Green tees= short. Hole #10- uses 1 tee but has 2 baskets- throw to the proper color coded basket. We're working to finish off all cement tees before winter.
*Follow color coded tape on baskets after each hole also!
