Pros:
- The signage was nothing short of awesome. The small town actually has a sign on the road pointing to the Disc Golf Course. The park entrance is very clear as well. There is even a sign that said, "Disc Golf Starts Here," once inside of the park.
- The parking situation works great. There are a few spots near the beginning of the course start and near the playground.
- This course is in a very small town so there wasn't a lot of traffic. There is a walking trail at the park and a playground. It should typically be easy to play without distractions.
- The area was very well kept. There was no tall grass in the play area so I never worried about losing a disc.
- The baskets looked fantastic. They were easy to spot and all of the chains were in excellent condition.
- There were signs indicating the distance and par in the ground.
Cons:
- The course was not very challenging. Most of the holes are open fairways.
- There were no designated teepads.
- Part of the course works through a field. There are two fences that are opened so you can get in and out when playing through the two holes impacted by the design.
- There was only one bench at the park to relax in between holes. It was at the second basket as well, where rest is not likely needed.
Other Thoughts:
It seems there are a number of courses growing near the Park Rapids area. Osage has added a worthy addition. There were no maps, but the signage and basket placement made it extremely easy to navigate. It was a fun course to quickly play, even though it didn't offer much of a challenge. There was a nice walking trail and a new looking playground at the park, making a trip to the Osage Disc Golf course fun for the whole family.
