Pros:
This nine holer located in a town where its sounds like Borat could have come from is actually located in a small town about 30 miles south of Rochester. Usually nine hole course are just ok at best (imo) but this stood out for being a decent course for several reasons:
Tee signs and basic tee pads at each hole.
Nearly minty new Mach vs that are great shape.
Good flow and use of the terrain.
Several holes really make you think what are you going to throw if you're hoping to make an ace run.
Great course to help introduce disc golf to students at the school where the course is located.
Course is well kept and and the rough wasn't so bad that no discs were lost during the round.
Numerous ace runs but again - not a simple throw and a go. Designer really put a fair amount of effort into its design and it shows.
Cons:
Only one set of tees. Would be nice to have an extra short set of tees for the younger, younger set. (10 and and younger)
The course is a little tricky to find. Just drive through on the school road and look for sparkling baskets on the hill.
While the rough wasn't so bad, it's likely kinda gnarly in the summer months. If they knocked down that rough once a year it would be a nice plus to its upkeep.
There were only nine holes - wish there had been another nine to throw at. (just a petty con.)
Other Thoughts:
After playing the nearby course at SUNY Geneseo a few months back, I did not have high expectations for this school based disc golf course. But it really was a fun nine holes of golf. Took less than a half hour and it well worth stopping by. I rarely give a nine hole course a three, but I think this one deserves it. Fun place to play if you choose to escape Rochester for an afternoon.
