Pros:
-The actual layout of the course was pretty good and challenging. I can see how this would be fun.
-Homemade baskets. Even if they aren't quite as good at catching, it is always fun to see them on the courses.
-It was a fairly scenic area. There is a reason it was chosen as a state rec area.
-You can camp here and spend time out in the middle of nowhere. It was fairly peaceful.
-Decent variation in distance. Nothing too short or too long.
-Good course for beginners (when mowed)
Cons:
-Tall tall grass even on the fairways make it really hard to even play here. Especially alone. I found myself throwing bright stable mid-ranges and watching carefully just to make sure I didn't lose discs. Even then it took a bit of searching sometimes.
-Natural tees are ok
-The flow of the course wasn't that good. It probably isnt played often so it was hard to follow anybody else's tracks or anything.
-Bugs everywhere, not many other courses I played in NE were nearly this bad.
-You could easily lose a disc
Other Thoughts:
This is a nice place but the disc golf course doesn't get played much and as a results probably doesn't get a lot of attention. I would have rated this course much higher if I hadn't been worried about losing my disc in the middle of the fairways on every throw. It would have been quite enjoyable if not for that. If you could find out the course conditions and it was favorable I would stop here and play in Norfolk twice but if it's not mowed I would skip it.
