Interesting layout, watch the grass 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 8, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

* Beautiful new baskets and tee signs
* Tucked nicely into an otherwise unused part of the park

Cons:

* Long grass makes finding your disc a challenge
* Tee pads are too short
* Several holes overlap each other

Other Thoughts:

Another nice little course in southwest Manitoba, and a very different disc golf experience compared to the course in Neepawa. This course is all about long(ish) shots along open fairways to baskets that are placed in interesting positions.

The tee signs and baskets are excellent. It's really easy to follow the course and you'll never wonder where the next basket it.

Holes are generally RHBH friendly with no real challenging shot selection. Throw your hyzer, throw your approach (if you're short!) then putt.

Beware of the water. It seems reasonably out of reach but we lost two discs playing. The first, on hole 2, when the approach shot sailed over the berm and followed the slope of the berm down to the water. The second, on hole 6, where an errant toss went a wee too left. If you go left on 6, your disc is gone.

In addition, the entire course plays in long grass, and there doesn't seem to be any reasonably way for the town to mow proper fairways. Keep a very close eye on where your disc lands otherwise you'll be hunting for a long time to find it.

It's interesting to play this course in conjunction with the one in Neepawa. The Neepawa course presents far more interesting shot options with tons of trees in play. This course presents simple shot options that are more about throwing long and staying within the tight fairway bounds.
