It it not worth the time, needs to be redone. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 22, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

-New Baskets
-Location

Cons:

-Impossibly stupid layout that plays down a path where people could be biking and walking.
-You cannot follow this course in anyway. The signs that are posted make almost no sense and are never pointed in the direction of the actual hole.
-No Teepads or even any wear in the ground to know which direction to go.
-When you end up off the path there is lots of poison ivy and oak.
-Stuff like tree branches just left on the course
-The course starts and plays around where kids and other people could be running around. If it were busy it would be unplayable / dangerous to play.
-Some of the baskets aren't labeled and it sure wouldn't take much to get some numbered stickers on the baskets.

Other Thoughts:

I am going to attempt to lay out this course for those of you that decide to actually come play here against all the reviews posted.

--Hole 1 starts over by kids park and horseshoes. Plays right to tennis court
--Hole 2 plays over the basketball court down the paved path
--Hole 3 plays down the paved bike path
--Hole 4 Is just down the path further
--Hole 5 starts on the left of the path and goes to the right, down another path towards the park again.
--Hole 6 Plays straight ahead - Actualliy resembles a disc golf hole.
--Hole 7 is a few steps up and to the left from basket 6. But this hole is all messed up. There is s tree blocking your ability to tee off. Then a big fence about 120ft ahead but then open and pin to the left. If for some reason you end up on the field there is a break in the fence a bit further up.
--Hole 8 plays behind the kids baseball field, along the fence and paved path in the middle.
--Hole 9 plays ahead through the trees probably the best hole on the course, or at least the one that makes the most sense.

This course has potential and I think if the right person would spend some time on this course it could be very fun!

Needs to be relayed out 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 7, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Only pro for this course are the new baskets in mint shape.

Cons:

Where do I start, there is no sign in the lot of where to start. I saw basket coming in and it was 9. Hole 1 is next to the tennis courts. There are small signs on the path of where the next hole is. Layout is very lame and pathetic with the potential of that park which gets little to no use. Course is layed out in the woods on a walk path with baskets a foot off of the path, most holes Are 100 ft long with a few going into the 180 ft range.

Other Thoughts:

Do not bother with this one, play lum in brainerd or cross lake community center if in the area like I did. Def won't be coming back unless it's redone

Needs to be redesigned by someone thats knows what he is doing 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 5, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

......

Cons:

Baskets aren't numbered
No tee boxes
No course maps
No signage
Its on a paved bike trail
Lots of poison ivy off of the fairways
Really short
Not fun

Other Thoughts:

Would have been better if someone with an ounce of common sense would have designed it, Greg Fagereng the designer of St. Mathias was talking to Mission Township about putting it in then he found out the baskets had already been placed and absolutely nobody knew about it

Mission Impossible 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 1, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course had baskets.

Cons:

There were silly fairways.
There were no tee signs.
There were no tee pads.

Other Thoughts:

The day was kind of muggy and buggy but we decided to give this course a shot to get it checked off. Short little park course, no problem, right? Wrong. It seemed as though the course was going to follow the trail, okay, cool we can deal with that. It made for some goofy, long fairways but within the realm of possibility. At first we thought that the trail markers were doubling as tee designators as the first 4 could have conceivably lined up, numbers to baskets. Number four inspired doubt and after that it was chaos. The baskets left the trail and became randomly placed throughout the park. No idea if we even hit all of them, seems like we did?

I don't remember if there was a loo.

Save yourself some time and skip it!

Course needs players and their inputs, possibly re-worked 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 30, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Some tricky shots through the woods, more than a few tunnel shots for a bit of a challenge
-Some interesting terrain though it's mostly flat, lots of scenery in central Minnesota from fallen trees to wildlife

Cons:

-Shorter holes, average hole lengths 150-200'
-No course maps, simply follow the paved path from the basketball courts behind the tennis courts through the woods, back around to the baseball field. The final hole is along the home-team dug-out at the baseball field.
-No marked tee-boxes, where to tee-off is simply guess-work
-Course doesn't escape the "park" feel, because it centers around a walking path as well as a baseball field
-Course clearly wasn't designed by disc golfers, because it lacks some of the basic elements of a disc golf course, such as a fairway (in places) or tee-boxes

Other Thoughts:

With some hardwork and dedication from serious disc golfers, this course could be a place for local disc golfers to enjoy.
