Dull Open Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 2, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

- epic elevation shot on #17
- nice par4 with OB on #14.
- pro par 3 with OB on #13.
- some holes do require max distance which is always fun.

Cons:

-Most holes are wide open with few obstacles. A simple stall shot will suffice on holes: 2,3,4,7,8,18.
- real chance of losing a disc on hole 1,11,15.
- played in December but I worry the rough on holes 12-16 would be a nightmare in the spring-summer.

Other Thoughts:

A dreaded mix of dull holes and risk-your-disc holes. Perhaps worth playing to practice an open course. Hole 17 was truly a joy to crush a 500 foot elevation drop drive but the rest of the course lacks imagination. I'll grant that it's Not the easiest property to work with but there are enough trees to create some windows and force some shot shapes.

Very well-designed new course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 28, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Really good hole design. There wasn't really a lot to work with on this piece of land, but the designers squeezed everything out of it to design a course that has a lot of really fun shots.
-Good balance of easy and hard holes. The front starts out pretty tame, but the course starts to get really long in the middle, and birdies come sparingly after the first 8 holes.
-Great long, challenging holes on the back 9. A few of these are reachable for big arms, and really give you a change to air one out while still requiring an accurate shot due to lots of legitimately dangerous hazards. You need to be able to throw a controlled 450-500 foot shot to have a look at birdie on holes 13, 15, and 17.

Cons:

-Several fairly basic holes (2, 7, 18). These holes are around 260-320 feet without many obstacles and are pretty easy birdies for decent players. I personally don't mind an easy, boring hole every now and again, but some people do.
-Entire course is on a massive grassy field, which means the grass can get really long in-between mows. Don't expect any skips here.
-Thick, thistley brush patches are used as hazards on the back 9. They're well-placed and add a challenge to a few of these long holes, and present a fun risk-reward scenario, but they will make your disc disappear and and completely tear up your legs should you throw one in there.

Other Thoughts:

For a relatively limited piece of land (mostly flat, not many wooded areas) this is an excellently designed course. Highly recommended for anyone in the Mid-Michigan area.

Great course, just need finishing touches 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 22, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Awesome course! Established on a closed ball golf course, which makes for a lot of shots that are best suited for big arms. Although the obstacles are few, the course is well designed to keep them in play at crucial upshots. 5 holes have water, including the Flint River and couple ponds later. Both are quite murky, I would avoid risking a disc here.

Cons:

Tee signs need to be installed still, though I hear they're going to be done soon. There are temporary signs with hole numbers and handwritten measurements, though it is not difficult to navigate without signs.

Other Thoughts:

Park is surrounded by a neighborhood. You will most likely see dog walkers and such walking around. Make sure to always look ahead before throwing. I've had a couple walkers right in the middle of the fairway a few times.
