(1.891 Rating) A lightly wooded church course needing upkeep on all four wooded holes.
- SKILL LEVEL FRIENDLY - The course will play fair for Novice, Recreational and Intermediate skill levels which make up the largest segment of the player population.
- QUICK PLAY - I played a blind solo round in 45 minutes. Figure groups of 4 in about 100 minutes.
- PARTLY WELL MAINTAINED - Other than the 4 heavily wooded holes, the lighted wooded areas had well maintained grounds. The course was freshly mowed and branches were few and far between
- GROW THE SPORT - No doubt will this course aid in growing the sport by offering easy access to learn the game at a community church.

Satisfying, not cerebral.
- OVERGROWTH - On my appearance there were three very overgrown holes (6,7 and 12) and one borderline one (14). To my own mistake, I tried playing both (6) and (14) and had to do some searching due to obviously hitting some twigs and careening off course. Hole (12) I image would look frigging awesome, but it had 100 percent fairway obstruction. Based on my prior experience, I feel these holes have probably been left unchecked now for more than a year. If these four holes get cleaned up, I'd probably raise the score for this course at least a quarter point.
- UNIQUENESS - A touch below average. The course features a nice mixture of lightly, moderately and heavily wooded holes. There are 10 to 15 foot elevation changes on a couple holes. Not really any water features, other than some wet swales. Basket guarding is light to non-existent on most holes. All par 3s and no shots need to bombed over 400 feet.
- TEES - Natural tees with roots protruding on a couple holes.
- CHAINS - DISCatchers, but the sport variety.
- CHARACTER - In addition to below average baskets and tees, not too many extras. Only one set of tees and no alternate basket placements. No benches or practice basket. There is a locked lost and found box.
- BEGINNER FRIENDLY - Not ideal, but doable with a skip of the 4 wooded holes.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - There are a couple tee shots in the woods that have a potential to be wonderful, but overall it's too much of a lightly wooded park style feel. There are buildings and parking lots in view from much of the course. Hole (17) is an obstacle free flat land tee shot. Overall I scored the course a 2.375 for beauty
- SPACING - The first eleven holes are jammed together with fringe adjacency issues.

Light years better than Semmes's Middle school down the road, but also light years behind the nearby Admiral course. The course should work great for those that attend the church and also those that live within a 5 minute car ride. For those coming to Mobile for the first time, MRAG DGC should not be among consideration. There are lots of other good courses in town. Now for those coming into town for the 7th time, like I have, then yes, it's worth a spin.
- CHALLENGE -Actually probably one of the stronger points of the course, but still a hair below average. It felt like a middle Recreational difficulty course. Best suited for those between an 800 rating to 925, and ideal for those around an 875 player rating. Modest distance and modest technical skills are required.
- NAVIGATION - Passable. It appeared that a map was in the process of being painted at the info board. The info board also had a slot for course maps or scorecards, but none were present. While on the course there are 6x6 white numbered posts. Also on the post is a simple artistic description of the hole and a hole distance. A few were hard to determine where to throw too, so I did throw to the wrong basket twice.

MRAG DGC plays around a fairly extensive property encircling a church. The first section of holes plays across flat, tree-dotted land. This stretch is solid, casual golf, with lots of birdie opportunities and holes that allow you to throw your preferred shot but still force line shaping. Low-ish ceilings further rein in your throw. There's some sneaky distance on these holes too, especially when the intermittent obstacles are factored in that prevent you from fully airing out. Woods and road form borders on a few of these holes. After a few wooded holes (which are definite cons owing to lack of grooming) the course moves to a different portion of the property that is more open. Overall, besides the wooded holes, the course is quite beginner friendly while still introducing basic line shaping and requiring both control and some distance to score well on.

Lots of parking, navigation is easier than it first appears it'd be.

The few wooded holes are some of the most unplayable I've ever seen. Fairways are hardly cleared, often have no throwing lane to speak of, and some of which are literally (seemingly-permanently) swamped, requiring walkways to even attempt to cross. I threw the first one of these and then, seeing the full extent of their unplayability, just walked the rest such holes. While a more technical change of pace would be great for the course in theory, these holes are terrible as they stand and should really be avoided. I would hope they are either further cleared or removed altogether.

The back 9 or so holes are on a much more cramped stretch of land and are very basic, with few obstacles. This is to me a course where I wish the designers didn't shoehorn in 18 holes: 9-12 holes on the same stretch of land could offer a lot more variation and possibly more technical and enjoyable play.

With lots of baskets visible from most tees it can be a bit difficult to discern which to throw to when. The natural tees are sometimes poor, though the shots are often simple enough the constricted run ups are workable. Baskets are cheaper, single-chain models, though it's reasonable to have such cost-effective measures on this style of casual course.

It's hard to recommend MRAG unless you're in the very immediate area and don't have time to visit one of the many better courses that are a bit farther away. The first 5 or so holes are enjoyable enough, but it goes downhill quickly. Decent for bagging or perhaps a light round, but little else.

This church course starts near the highway and works itself clockwise around the property. Game play starts in the open field with trees scattered throughout the area, goes into the woods twice before finishing near the parking lot. Each tee post listing the distance also has a verse of the bible that mirrors the same number, which I thought was a cool touch.

I enjoyed the relative ease the course offered, but the wooded holes soured me a little bit. They're wet with standing water and are in need of some serious trimming in general, too poke and hope. Many of the holes were ace runnable, but the baskets are basic Innova sports. Navigation was hard to follow in areas, the course needs some directional signs after hole 10 or 11. It being a church course, there could be some interaction between other activities in the area, too.

This wasn't the most difficult course in the world, but it should suit beginners quite well as an introduction to disc golf. The fairways are open, flat and well landscaped. The only place it might be difficult to lose a disc is on a few short wooded holes. I used good deal of my bag throughout the course, just not my mids. It was a fun course that I would consider stopping at to stretch my legs. I'd likely bump up my rating if a couple fixable cons were squared away.

-watch out for golden silk orb-weavers (banana spiders) on the "swamp holes" 6, 7 & 12

- 1-3 play like 3 parallel lines ( /// ) along Moffett Rd. so you kind of zig-zag from the baskets back to the next tee. The aforementioned "swamp holes" 6, 7, & 12 are potentially a bit messy. 6 is also missing the basket (I used the basket for 12 which isn't too far away).

- 6 & 7 are an interesting pair - they have fairways in the academic sense of the word i.e. space between the tee and basket. 6 plays into the woods, 7 is a thread-the-needle shot out of the woods. Errant shots are punishing despite the short distances.

-From 8's tee it can be confusing which basket you're going for despite the mando ruling out one of the baskets to the right

-11 goes through a small corridor of trees to a basket on the top of what seems to be a small berm with nothing in the middle of it. You have to be careful not to overshoot or you'll end up down in it, but personally i think it'd make the hole a lot sicker if the basket was in the middle of that area. it'd make it a blind shot into what looks like a hole in the ground.

-12 is currently ridiculously overgrown and plays into the same area as 6 & 7.

-16 plays along the line of trees to the left with the basket out of sight in between a dirt mound and one of the buildings.

-18 is another fun little blind shot w/ the basket to the right behind foliage. Pretty enjoyable course if you can survive the issues I described with the front 9. Just my opinion though.

Tees are generally set under shade of trees.
Beautiful land, nice and shady.
Fairly easy to navigate.
Painted maps for each tee are fairly accurate.

Wooded holes, 6&7 I believe.
Their hanging basket for hole 6 was stolen so now it's on a man made hill. A creek is just to the left of the hole. Trenches were dug for the holes but it's still a little swampy back there.
7 doesn't give you much to work with. Short hole with trees/vines blocking most of the "fairway".

In Mobile most courses are primarily wooded with the exception of Municipal. Muni is a pretty difficult course for me, holes are long and the Alabama sun is unforgiving in the summer. I prefer Moffet assembly of god because the holes are shorter and there's plenty of shade.

I know the course designers and they have been working on the swamp area, digging trenches and what not to control the water.

Hole 8: Basket is straight/right from the tee but map shows it to the left.

The back 9 is great. All holes are open and easy to navigate.

Me and my friend play this course a lot when the weather permits. We generally skip the wooded holes as they could use some serious work. I've taken my nephew here a few times as well and even though he's a beginner he's enjoyed it.

- Overall it was a fun course to play.
- If you are near by and do not have much time to play it is great. Even if you play through the 9 holes twice it only takes half the time from most other courses.
- great use of the small space.

- A little too easy.
- I would say great for beginners but considering how close some wholes are to hwy 98 and to each other it may not be a great idea for beginners. But I would say the level of the course would be beginners.
- difficult to tell which basket to throw to on many holes.
- There was a hole in the woods but I can easily say it is the worst hole I have ever played. Trees are good but this was too much. and I was walking in mud the whole time because a creek is running through it.

Over all it is a fun little course to play which you could play through very quickly but it can get confusing and is a little too easy for my liking. I would at least give it a shot and play it at least once. It seems they are making some improvements on signs and markings so by mid to the end of summer it should be much better and easier to navigate.

Saw a poster at cottage hill about this course and decided to give it a try. Only 9 holes but they are putting on a tourney to pay for the back 9. Course is located on church property so please observe the rules posted at the course.

From the #1 tee, several baskets can be seen (pretty much all of the baskets). The basket for #1 if fairly straight forward, as are #2 and 3. From there it gets confusing as you can see several baskets, and is hard to go by the indicated distances as some holes seem a lot shorter than indicated. All of the baskets are located in a field adjacent to the church. Large oak and pine trees create "throwing lanes", for lack of a better term.

I noticed one hanging basket in the woods behind one of the baskets. I don't know if that is going to be part of the back 9 or just a practice basket, as I didn't see a tee box for that basket.

While it is something different to play, I wouldn't go out of my way to play it. Maybe with the addition of the back 9 it will get better. Until then, I'd stick with the established courses in the area.
