Lunch Break Course

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 8, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Hole 5 is pretty cool. You start on the other side of the stream and throw over it to a RHBH hyzer finishing straight shot with a semi low ceiling and a few tree left and right to keep an eye on. Only 225 feet but a scenic little throw and one of the only redeeming things about this little place. Hole 2 isn't terrible, it guards against RHFH or LHBH players throwing a hyzer but other than that it's very open and easy for RHBH players (which is a majority of disc golfers out there) to get there in 1-2 throws. I played the course when school was in session and still was alone out there.

I appreciate that they didn't try to cram 9 holes in here when that would of certainly made it even worse than it was. They saw 5 holes so they put in 5 holes so good job there I suppose.

Cons:

The first 3 holes are just long, open holes thrown to a basket in an open field for the most part. Hole 4 is a short throw to a basket in an open field. It's just so blah and uninteresting that there really isn't much fun to be had here.

They attached tee pads in concrete to the already existing sidewalks, not sure why they didn't just use the concrete sidewalks they already had, seems like a waste but what do I know.

Other Thoughts:

Honestly just skip this course unless you go to school here. If I did go to school here or taught here I would be out here on lunches breaks every now and again but that's the only people who should be playing this. Hardcore course baggers only I suppose.

Good spot to practice, but not really a course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 24, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Baskets are all in great shape
-Concrete teepads
-Grounds are mowed regularly
-Low traffic area, so you can practice by throwing as many discs as you want
-Two holes are 350', and another one is 400'. So lower arm speed throwers can use this "course" as a place to work on improving their distance.

Cons:

-Only five holes
-Teepad for hole #2 is awkwardly sloped
-Only two or three trees come into play, leaving three of the holes wide open with zero impediments

Other Thoughts:

This is a pretty brief review, but there really isn't much to say. Reading through the previous comments, it sounds like incremental improvement has been made by pouring five concrete teepads. Otherwise, this is still the same course as what was reviewed seven years ago.
Come here to practice driving or putting in solitude. If you're expecting anything more than that, you will be disappointed.

It's not the size that counts... so I'm told. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 7, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Take a trip with me to a wondrous and immaculate grass field located in the heart of a small town. It is essentially the most thrilling and exciting attraction for blocks around. Yes, I'm talking about the amazing and spectacular 5-basket "course" known as the Ogden Weber Applied Tech College.

I have no idea why this course isn't the host for more tournaments as it is so pristine and luxurious. They practically have a spa area complete with mud bath for your discs or faces alike!

The holes are so amazingly technical and require such incredible skill that this must be the go-to course for all the local pros and scout troops.

Cons:

I may have overstated the technical nature of the holes, and the course in general.

In reality it's not a course at all. In fact, it's really just 5 poorly placed baskets in a field. I mean, 4 of them are in a straight line for crying out loud!

Other Thoughts:

Enjoy 10 min of extreme fun on this abomination of a course if you have nothing better to do or in the unlikely event that a tornado destroys all of the other disc golf baskets within 50 miles.

Oh, and there aren't any tee pads, but they do have some oddly placed blocks of cement buried in the ground which make a thrilling game of "don't fall in the lava/grass!" Now that is totally worth it.

Made for the Students 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 26, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice baskets. Well kept lawns. A few pretty trees, and an interesting little river. 3 of the 5 holes are pretty fun. This course can be played in 10 minutes.

Cons:

No signs. Only 5 holes, all of which are short.

Other Thoughts:

A fun course for students. Not a destination course.
