New O'Hauser 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 1, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a very hard review for me because I loved the old O'Hauser so much and it hurts me to see what has happened to the course.

There are still some pros though.
-The course does very nice. There are lots of woodchips down, fancy baskets with circles of rocks around them, nice looking signs on the pads, etc
-There are multiple pin locations and multiple pads to shoot from
-The pads are color coated
-The course is clean for now
-There are a few good holes
-A disc vendor is on site on almost a daily basis
-Pay to play to help fund the course and to keep it looking nice

Cons:

Honestly the con is the design of the course. I am not one of those people that think a course is good just because it is hard. I look at more than that.
-There are numerous holes that require you to just shoot and pray as their is either no line or the line is so small that it is unrealistic to hit the gap
-There are numerous holes that require you to throw a shot that is not possible with our current technology
-There was an attempt at placement shot golf done on a few holes, but they blocked the line needed to make that placement shot
-Almost every hole is an anhyzer (courses need variety)
-I missed several gold pads and had to replay the hole because they are not in an obvious spot
-The signs only show the pad your are throwing from and the ones in front on the picture so finding longer pads was more difficult
-And this isn't course design, but the teepads were not brushed for some reason so they are going to be extremely slippery when wet.

Other Thoughts:

Basically the facility has everything you would want for a course with signs, multiple pads and pin locations, shop, clean, but the course design is just not up to par with the rest of it. I feel like it was designed by someone who does not even play the game and there are way too many holes that are either entirely luck based or just dumb. Very upsetting to me as I thought the old O'Hauser was a 4 and it did not have the niceness of this one.
