Gym Class Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 18, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ Easy to get to, with the course being located in a small city. You can easily just drive around he city and you will happen upon the course

+ Concrete Tees

+ Older Discatchers catch well enough for being old

+ Decently easy to navigate without the use of uDisc but with uDisc its a breeze

+ Hole 2 would be the only cool/decent hole on the course with it using the only trees around.

Cons:

- Hole 1 is a weird one. The tee was a bit hard to find at first but walking around for a bit and you will find it. The basket of hole one is in-between two baseball diamond chain link fences. You kinda need a perfect shot to have a putt. I was maybe 10' away on my drive and I had to pay around the high fences to get my par.

- Hole 9, I couldnt find the teepad. I followed the uDisc GPS and there was no teepad in site. I ended up driving off of a walking path but have no real clue where the tee is.

- Some holes play very close to farm fields and unkept tall grass. If you get outside the circle on a few holes you are in real danger of losing a disc or two.

- A few holes played very close to multi use places. The course plays throughout some baseball/football/multiuse fields so if there is an event going on then I would think the course would be unusable

Other Thoughts:

My take is that you can and should skip this course unless trying to bag a course. It seems like the school put this course in to maybe use for PE and then does nothing to upkeep the course. The course is nicely mowed but the rough is not.

Neglected School course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 15, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is your prototypical school course that wraps around the athletic fields. Also your typical school course that gets put in with good intentions only to be instantly forgotten about and fall apart rapidly. There are nice sized concrete tees on the first 6 holes I believe. Hole 7's was painted on the concrete by a concession stand which is just as good. Then, poof, they're gone. Not a big deal really but why bother with concrete on 6 (7 technically) then stop. The baskets are an older variety. DISCatchers maybe. Seem like portables but the were all mounted...almost. They caught OK. The flow is pretty decent but without the UDisc map it would've been a crapshoot. No tee signs. Hole 2 has a wall of cedars the whole way down the left side with a small hill running the whole right side. You want to stay on the spine between the 2 for a level putt. Probably the signature hole if you'd call it that. Course will never be busy and is permanent and free. Course starts and ends by the East end of the High School.

Cons:

To start hole 1's basket is leaning against a baseball backstop that hasn't been used in at least 35 years. Tucked between 2 of these actually. The concrete and pole are laying about 7 feet away. Hole 3 has one of the real nice tee pads but no basket, due it seems to some recent construction. Hole 4, 5 and 6 all have farm fields lining a side of the fairway. I somehow lost a disc in an alfalfa field on the right side of hole 6. It was an awful shot by me totally, but is worth mentioning I feel.

Other Thoughts:

I felt this course needed a review for people like me who play them all. Obviously it's not worth going any distance out of your way to play. I understand that it's designed for high schoolers but I'll judge it the same way I do the rest so it's a 1.5 for me. Not the worst course I've played by far but definitely towards the bottom.
