Pros:

-- Multiple tee pads and pin positions for each hole. Each hole has at least two concrete tee pads with a nice sign at each. All but one or two holes also have a much-shorter natural tee pad marked with a simple post with the hole number.
-- Variation in shots is awesome. Not just hyzer and anhyzer but options for thumbers, low ceilings, tunnels, etc. On the longer holes, there always seems to be a tree or a few trees that make you hit a line, and there were options to hit a tunnel or throw over trees. The shorter holes are in the trees and require serious accuracy to score. Variation in distances is also awesome. The natural tees are the shortest holes and do not have distance marked. The blue tees, depending on basket position, can have 11 holes less than 250 feet and seven 200 or shorter. The gold can have seven holes longer than 400 feet and four longer than 500 feet.
-- Fairways are extremely well defined and visually appealing. The rough is knee/waist deep. We spent too much time in the rough but never lost a disc,
-- Course flow and navigation are good.
-- Map near hole 1.
-- Benches, while not at every tee, are scattered so that you have a chance to sit and rest every few holes.
-- Restrooms and water fountain in the Outdoor Adventure Center office at hole 1. Hours are marked as 1-7 p.m. Monday-Friday, but that is for the college students who work there. We found full-time college employees there before noon in July.

Cons:

-- Elevation changes are fairly small, and water is only really in play on one hole (18 gold), but the tee is so close to the water that there is little risk of not clearing for anyone who is not a total newbie.
-- The two basket positions are nice, but on a few holes, you can't see the basket from the tee and you have to walk up the fairway to locate the basket.

Other Thoughts:

-- This is a different course than the one that most of the reviews on this site (now removed) talked about.
-- This is probably in the top 10, and definitely in the top 15, of the 160-plus courses I have played. We played three rounds in one day (one from each set of tees) on my first visit and loved every minute of it.
-- The natural tees offer much-shorter distance as an option for younger/less-experienced players. However, at least two of them give you holes shorter than 100 feet when the basket is also in the short position. In those cases, you can play the blue tees on those holes, which is what we did.
-- The course is pretty long (just shy of 7,000 feet in hole distance), and you don't come back near the parking lot/building at any point during the round.
-- The course was fairly muddy on both of my visits (9 months apart). I live 100 miles away, so I don't know if I got unlucky and played after heavy rain both times or if the course doesn't drain well.

Nice Course, Only Getting Better 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 19, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Constantly improving the layout, and finding new creative tee placements. You finish right back where you start and great location for a course.

2 concrete tees for each hole.

Never crowded.

Cons:

Hole 16 gold shot is very rough. A lot of small stumps that still need removed, so it can be dangerous when walking the hole!

Some of the holes "gold" tees provide little variation on the "blue" shot other than about 50 feet of distance.

Other Thoughts:

They have really improved this course over the past couple of years and it only gets better every time I go. This is fast becoming my favorite course. After a long painful relationship of lost discs in 5 foot tall grass, it has become a weekly trek that I always look forward to see what has been updated and improved.

Thank you for making this a great location that I am proud to call my local course!

Commerce DG - Revamped 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 27, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Good for beginners and intermediate players
- Decent variation of throws
- Good variation of short and long holes
- Nice innova baskets
- No wait times

Cons:

- Dirt drive pads, no concrete
- Thorns / brush on about 4-5 holes
- Holes 14 and 15 still being developed

Other Thoughts:

This course has seen alot of improvement over the years. They have just completed 10 new holes (18 total) utilizing the more wooded part of their land. The OA center sells a few discs/bags, and has bathrooms and water inside. They also put on clinics and mini tourneys every now and then.

Much improved 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 22, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Course is now maintained much better and the nasty briers have mostly been taken care of. It is way easier to keep up with your discs with the course being well maintained.

The back 9 holes add a lot of variety that is missing on the front 9. There are quite a few that force different shots and this makes it quite enjoyable.

There are great baskets with a fun layout. Front 9 is definitely less challenging than the back 9.

Cons:

There are currently no public restrooms, and tee boxes are just dirt.

Other Thoughts:

This is a course that has come a long ways since it began a couple years ago. The early reviews were spot on, but it is worth giving a second chance since it is better maintained and the back 9 provides a much more interesting experience.
