I am biased in my review, but I like rather open, park-like courses and Paimio DPG is just that. I find them both more fun to play and pleasing to the eye.

Although Paimio is lightly wooded it is not too easy. The main hazard is the brook that goes through the course. The brook comes in play on seven of the nine holes. It will make you more cautios and your throws shorter making the ca. 90 metres/300 ft holes appear a lot longer. Furthermore, the trees on the course are well placed and every hole has at least one proper line from tee to basket.

Good maps and proper baskets.

The rough. As you can see from the pictures, the fairways are narrow and outside the fairways rough can get really rough. It is too easy to lose your discs, especially by the brook.

Tee boxes. They are quite literally boxes with sides pointing up. Long run ups are out of the question.

Short holes. Throwing 90 metres is by no means easy but it may be quite boring if every hole is played with a drive, an optional close-up and a put.

All in all Paimio DGP is nice. Not like supernice but okay. If you are ever visiting Paimio you can certainly enjoy disc golf, but not the fullest.
