Pros:
-- Considering the land that this park is in, I think the layout was done very well. There isn't much in terms of distance, elevation, or obstacles to work with but I feel this course design takes a good advantage of the little there. I had to throw different lines and used a surprising number of discs and shots given this is a short, open, 9 hole course. As a LHBH, I had to use a downhill anhyzer over a pond (not sure if the pond is permanent or seasonal), a few hyzer skips with my Firebird, some shots between a few tight trees with a ceiling and some big spike hyzers around a tree. Some holes had easy lines on either side a tree, so I just threw multiple shots and lines to get some practice in.
-- Good practice for approach shots and putting. I can't image this course getting super crowded with golfers, so it's almost like short field practice but with a basket. It's only 9 holes, so play a few times and take multiple drives with different lines
-- Lots of ace runs. Every hole should be a birdie opportunity so good confidence builder, I guess. Would be decent for new players who live by to learn on. There isn't any woods or trouble to really get into and lose a disc in.
-- Beautiful multi-use park. Is really just a nice place in general.
-- Decent baskets and signs
Cons:
-- Short, open and only 9 holes. This is due to the nature of being located in a small, multi-use park. There isn't much challenge here. I shot -4 and -5 in two rounds (9 holes each). If it wasn't cold and icy, on a good day I could see myself shooting -9 on 9 holes if I was putting well.
-- A few tees were a bit rough. I also played in Jan, so there was some ice on some of the sand tees. However, some holes tee off a cement walking path so those were no issue.
-- I played in January so no one was there. As I said, I don't see a lot of disc golfers playing here but being a multi-use park, I could see pedestrians getting in the way a bit in the summer.
Other Thoughts:
There isn't much here to talk about. 9 short, open holes in a small neighborhood park. But it is a nice park, the baskets seem well kept, and the design is nice given what they had to work with. I only played because I was in the area and had about an hour left before it got dark and I felt like throwing. I wouldn't travel here to play, but if you have time to kill in the area, it's worth a few quick practice rounds.
