Good short course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jan 18, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The course was designed by a youngster getting his Eagle Scout badge. Well-done!
Good job designing 9 holes with 8 baskets and getting the most out of the layout.
Great course for beginners, like my 8 year old daughter who loves playing here.
Enough of a challenge on a few long holes for advanced players to enjoy the walk.
Not a crowded park. Those who don't play disc golf have their fun and aren't in the way.

Cons:

No map on the property causing people to get confused about which pad to use for #4, #5 and #7.
3 tee pad signs creates more confusion for the 6 holes without signage.
Concrete pads should have been, and still could be stamped with distances and hole #s

Other Thoughts:

Not worth a long drive to play this course.
The acacias could easily be trimmed back quite a bit in some key areas that would make the #3 and #7 more fair. Not enough landing area room for drives on those holes.
#4 needs a few dirt steps cut for safety.

Murrieta's other course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 20, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Wide open- really difficult to throw a disc in a backyard and lots of options to throw a jungle 18 using holes and pads. Several long holes (made less wicked when played as par 4). Outstanding tee signs. Alternate pins for 7 and 8. Plays very fast and fun. Hole 7 is a tough.

Cons:

Wide open- evidently trees fear this park so just bring your grip-and-rip and a putter. A cheese-grader rated walkway just itchin to get at your discs. Only 3 tee pads serving 4 holes with the walkway making up the remainder. 9 tees, 8 holes. Not very challenging unless its super windy. Vandals have removed almost all of the tee signs

Other Thoughts:

This was clearly a disc golf course shoe-horned into a tight pocket park and they did well with the space they had. Could of shortened or reworked a couple holes to come up with a full 9. Needs lots of trees to increase difficulty.
