Great course in a nice park 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 23, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Great variety of different holes (open / short but challenging / water / wooded)
- The fairways are mowed in spring and summer
- The tee pads are really good. (At least where there are some.)
- Really challenging but still really fun to play for every skill level

The best part about it is, that there are 18 permanent baskets now.

The course is situated in a nice park that has pretty much everything, besides elevation changes, you would want for a disc golf course. It also has all other amenities you would need. A small local restaurant to get some food and drinks, public transportation close by and a lot of parking areas.

To play the course on a really good level, you certainly need pretty much all the different shots you can manage to play.

Cons:

- No signs on any hole
- Only Teepads on a few holes, but all tees are marked now. (Check the media pages for examples, and files for an updated course map)
- No official map -> use the one under files on DG Course Review

If you do not know the tees, it is hard to find your way around. So right now it is still best to play the course with a local for a few times. Before taking it on for your self.

Other Thoughts:

This is changing as the club from Basel is working together with the city of Lörrach to get the course up to a professional level. Last year there were only the baskets and high grass and this year the fairways are mowed and a few tee pads are installed.
Now (Nov 2018) all tees are marked with orange and yellow (pro Tees) ground markers.

To get in contact to some locals you can either contact Merry Chains Disc Golf Club Basel (www.merrychains.ch ) or Heads Up Freiburg (www.headsupfreiburg.de ). Both clubs are somewhat close by and many players of them know the tees.

If signs, map and tee pads are installed, this course could be one of the very best in Germany and Switzerland. As it is now, it is somewhat in the middle. Great to play as long as you know where to start from. But the future looks bright for the course, so we will see what comes next.
