Pros:
Nice 9er along the Colorado River with huge Cottonwoods, Pecans and Oaks in play on most holes. Camping is available, there's also a playground and fishing pier. Nice layout with no underbrush or cedars. #6 basket was removed after a large tree smashed it, All the tee boxes are natural with a pitchers plate in the ground marking the end of the tee box. There are yellow posts at every tee box with its number on top. Each basket is numbered as well. Large area for a nine hole course, very obvious which basket is yours which is nice and makes it easy to navigate. The park is operated by the city of Smithville so you should contact them before intending to camp since there are no park staff on site. There is a possibility of extending the course and #6 will be replaced soon. Great for locals or to get out and stretch between Houston and Austin on hwy 71. Turn in on the west side of the Colorado River bridge on hwy 71.
