Pros:
Fun course for beginners or experienced plays. Good use of space, trees, and OB (roads). The big open areas use the space for two nice long holes and the rest of the course has short to medium distance holes with creative use of the trees in the area. Although right along the river, the water is not in play. And who likes dunking discs? Park seems clean. Far enough from the highway you can't hear or see the cars. Fun for good players to try to post their best under-par score.
Very nice large course map posted near hole 1 teepad.
Nice baskets! Numbered!
Cons:
Only 9 holes.
3 holes have fairways that go over roads and thus you might have to wait for cars or pedestrians. Hole 9 goes very close to the bathroom building and if you have a big arm you might be in danger of hitting park-goers or cars parked near the restrooms on a busy day.
Hole 3 basket is not very creatively placed.
Hole 9 teepad placement feels sloppy. Very close to large leafy tree and spells trouble for leftys but poses no problems for righty backhand throwers.
Teepads need maintenance.
Other Thoughts:
If this were just a course in a city with other options for DG, I probably wouldn't rate it over 3. But this course is perfectly located for golfers on the road in Texas, situated on the path between Houston and Austin or the Hill Country. What disc golfer doesn't love the idea of a quick 9 holes at the next rest area? Brilliant!
Hole 6 basket has been replaced.
