Pros:
-Sweet blue baskets in great shape.
-Course map at the start.
-Course loops around to lot so you can play either 9 from the same place
-Easy to follow with next tee close to last basket.
-Handpainted signs were helpful on some holes
-Interesting elevation both up and down a few times.
-Shouldn't lose a disc here unless you get really out of hand and put it into the lake.
-Beautiful views of Lake Oahe
-The Gateway hole was pretty cool. You throw through a man made obstacle to a short basket. An ace possibility but you would hate to be embarrassed by hitting the Gateway. The Gateway is kind of gimmicky but it adds a little extra to this open course.
Cons:
-Many of the holes are very similar.
-Not too much variation in hole length.
-Many holes are open. There are a few trees in the way but not any very large ones.
-Many tee signs are no longer on the posts or have been damaged by the weather or birds in the last 9 years.
-Tees are natural and lumpy. They don't look to get a lot of use so they could be worse but are definitely not ideal.
-This course is very open so it can get blasted by winds coming off the prairie and lake.
Other Thoughts:
-This course is in the middle of nowhere and is about 100 miles from the nearest course. If you are passing through on 212 you might as well play it but there aren't many other reasons to do so.
-This course was a good effort and a good use of land. It needs a little love to get it into its best shape.
-This course did have a reasonably high fun factor for me. There were ace runs and fun elevation shots.
