Let there be yeets!

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 20, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

For all of the courses I've played most of the church ones are mediocre, squeezed into a small space and I feel compelled to say something nice about a course that may or may not deserve it. However this one is is actually pretty good, and o think they are slowly improving it.

As you pull into the back of the church there is a large course map and a practice basket by the parking area.

Most of the holes are 250-450 but a couple are over 500 and there are some legit par 4s especially if you play the flags as OB. The pads are now concrete and there are good tee signs as well that are accurate.

The OB in the form of roads beyond the flags and the water on some of the later holes(and barbed wire marking the perimeter) make it somewhat challenging and I was breaking in a new driver so it was fun to just launch a few and this was a great place to do it, especially with the ever present wind.

I think the baskets are Mach 5s and seemed super fair catching.

Cons:

It's basically all open, with the exception of the green of 6 and some trees around the perimeter. And I bet I'm the summer it's a scorcher. The wind is persistent and your drives are going to get knocked around a bit.

There also seem to be a good amount of pedestrians around and some know what your up to and many do not, so you may be waiting around a bit at times.

Also a few holes with the road nearby so expect some road rash if you don't mail the line.

Other Thoughts:

Really fun course to get in on my travels and could be an amazing glow course if they were so inclined.

Disc Golfing On A Savannah 2+ years

Pros:

First off let me say that I am very pleased and grateful for all of the new church courses going in. It gives them something to do with their extra land, provides activity for the congregation and nearby neighborhoods, introduces new people to the sport, and of course provides more courses to bag!

This course is one of the longer church courses that I have played and will provide a decent challenge for new-int throwers (pros will prob finish -16 or better). The holes range from around 250-500+ with most set in a series of open fields. There are a couple of holes with trees on them to force a little shaping here and there. We tossed this round during the dry season, and it was bone dry. Judging by the topography, there could be water hazards during the rainy season. The course has nice tee signs that show distance and layout.

The course was litter-free and mowed tight.

Cons:

The cons unfortunately are many.

The tees are natural and in bad shape. It's pretty much "throw from wherever you want to" near the tee sign now. Hopefully concrete is coming. Most of the holes are vanilla straight field holes with only distance changes for variation. It can be very windy. This will not be the best summer course. There is not a lot of shade on this one. The course is next to a very busy road and the road noise is loud and everpresent on some of the holes.

Other Thoughts:

It's a course. It's open to the public. It's playable. There is a good chance that you will have the whole course to yourself because folks will gravitate to the better courses in the area. If I had anything to do with this course I would plant a bunch of trees etc and let this course grow into a possible 3.0 course.
