A little rough 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 14, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Short to play
-Concrete Tees
-OK signage
-Good benches

Cons:

-Confusing Layout
-Some holes hard to figure out (Which basket is #1, where to go from #5 to #6, where is the #6 basket [around the corner to the right]
-Needs a map

Other Thoughts:

This short course in a city park uses some otherwise unusable space along the hill up from the river. It is a quick play, but would move more smoothly with a map. Some of the holes are rather drastic in elevation change, which helps in interest, but makes it more difficult for novice players. The grass on the #6 "fairway" was terribly high and not sure if they ever get a mower down in this area. If you want a quick play, might be OK, but I probably won't be back.

A Nice Little Gem... for a 9 Hole 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 24, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Mix of easy and hard holes
-Quick to play
-Course sits along a river, but not too close. So some nice views with out fear of losing disks
-Concrete tees
-Better for beginners and Intermediate players

Cons:

-Sits in small park so you may be competing with families for space,
-Not the best laid out course, couple nice holes
-Hole 2 is confusing, a hole 2 basket seems up but there is no tee pad. You go for it anyway and when you get done with that hole you see a sign pointing you to the real Hole 2. Weird.

Other Thoughts:

This is a nice breezy course, with a few challenges, that can played quickly. It can be a nice before or after course if you go to Wildcat Bluff which is less and than 1/2 hour away in Urbana.

Along the Cedar river 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 2, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Concrete tee pads with nice signs with descriptions of holes and distances. In a clean town park with 4 holes with a view of the Cedar river. Elevation changes with mostly shorter holes. Benches and trash cans at every hole.

Cons:

Difficult to find hole #2 after playing #1 (go back toward rec building past practice basket to find #2 tee). Very close to other park activities on some holes.

Other Thoughts:

About 12 miles from major hwy in a classic small river town. Worth the trip as you can play 2 rounds in about 1 hour. So far, one of my favorite 9 holers. Park down by the boat ramp along the river and begin on hole 7. Great view from there.
