Pros:
A little southeast of Knoxville, the Seymour First Baptist Church offers up a wide-open nine-holer with a mundane design due to the lack of suitable topography.
The course is about as good as can be expected considering how little there is to work with. Trees are included prominently on Hole #6, while an enormous tree on Hole #2 definitely impacts the line to the basket. There's elevation on a few holes and a telephone pole and chain-link fence on the opening hole prompt some accuracy off the tee.
The field is grassy and easy to traverse. The tee areas are natural, marked by a couple pavers, and in good shape. There's a little plastic stick inserted near each tee area with the hole number on it.
Hole #4 is the shortest hole at 210 feet and it's downhill, so it could be an ace run for even the inexperienced disc golfers.
The designer avoided making any substantial errors, such as crossing a lot of fairways or putting baskets in dangerous areas. With an area bereft of interesting land features, it could have been tempting to add some gimmicks. Instead, it's a wide-open field ideal for first-timers.
There are restrooms available behind the concession stand, next to the Hole #1 tee area. Also, the church website says that there are disc available to "check out" during business hours.

No teepads. No navigational aids. There are a couple spots where it's not immediately intuitive which is the next hole and the little numbered markers at each tee area are too far away to read.
There's a concrete walking path that goes around the property's perimeter and several times the fairways go over or near this path, so keep an eye out for walkers.
