Pros:

18 holes with brand new DIScatcher baskets. Two tees on every hole but 2 and 12 (they share a pad). Course winds its way through a section of the county owned park and offers a variety of shots that are fair and challenging. Whatever elevation is there is used (remember this is South Florida) well. Three holes bring water into play (with one technically in a fenced in OB area) but safe shots will not test the water. To add some distance, there are four holes (there is a 5th hole with a par 4 alternate pin) that play as par fours and two good shots will reward you with a look at birdie. Bad shots are punished and there is a lot of OB to keep you honest. Plays quickly. Hole 13, arguably the signature hole, is a great dogleg, true par 4 with a mando and a unique right side finish. Getting a three on this hole, especially from the back tee, will feel like a bonus.

Cons:

This is a multi-use county park that is rather busy, so be on the lookout for pedestrians and vehicles on the roads and at picnic benches, which do come into play throughout the course. Once people are aware of the course and its usage this will probably not be as big of a detractor.

Still awaiting final tee signs, which should be done sooner than later.

Other Thoughts:

The course designer and the club have done a fantastic job in bringing to life a challenging but fair par 58 layout that will utilize every shot...well, save a roller, the grass is kind of long this time of year. Come play Silent Lake as part of your trip in the Fort Lauderdale/Broward county area. You'll be glad you did.

Also, please be aware the county charges a $1.50 per person park entrance fee on weekends and holidays. No additional fee for disc golf.
