Short course in a tight space

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 14, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Recent course in a nice park. Fairly beginner friendly in terms of distance. The course is also next to a swimming pool and playground if families come out and want other things to do.

Good tee signs, and the course is fairly easy to navigate (there is a little bit of a walk between holes 4 and 5). No permanent tee pads but there is enough space by the tee signs that you have a good run-up.

There are some fun shots, a some gaps to hit, and a mix of lines (backhand, forehand, and roller is even a good play on a couple holes).

The course was done as an Eagle Scout Project.

Cons:

The area where the course is set is in a very crowded park. About half the holes play very close to softball/baseball fields and the bleachers for watching the games.

Hole 9's basket is probably within the circle of a set of bleachers. Hole 3 plays as a tunnel shot through trees, and the fairway has a shelter right in the throwing area, and holes 5,6, and 9 are all tight gaps/tunnels around ball fields.

If there are games going on, you probably should not be playing this course because the chances of hitting someone would be super high. The person or people designing the course probably didn't take that into consideration as much as they should have.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, the course is fun to play if there aren't any people around (I played it during the day and since it was hot, nobody was out there). I would not play this course if there are ballgames being played, just too risky. If they made a few tweaks so that the fairways and baskets weren't so close to areas where people would be, it could be played (carefully) while people were there.

Signature hole- Hole 6 is around 265'-270' that is a straight tunnel shot that plays directly through two ball fields with a shed and trees and power poles. Straight at it or righty forehand/lefty backhand are the best ways to play it. When I played it, I actually hit the cage going straight down the middle.

Hole 9 is a good chance to try a roller. It's low ceiling but only about 310' with the ball field on the left and a fence on the right. You could try a big spike hyzer but the chances of going OB are pretty high since the green/fairway is only around 50 feet across.
To make this hole a little safer, they could bring both the tee and the basket back around 40'-50'. It would still be a tough shot, but gets the basket away from where people would be.

Overall, I like most of the holes except for how close they all play to high traffic areas. If they were to change a few things, this would be a course you could play all the time and still keep people safe.
