Pros:

First off, LOL at James' review below.

-Nice use of the land in a huge MetroPark
-Huge teepads
-Navigation is fairly simple. Couple spots could get a little tricky, when there's 2 trails crossing.
-Lots of trash cans.
-Benches on a lot of holes
-Plenty of both long and short holes
-Definitely some challenge here. Mainly in distance, but there are some holes that are tight looks.
-Pay to play which is good IMO. Course usually looks great

Cons:

-The only trash issues I've ever seen in my many years of coming to Stony is that sometimes the cans don't get emptied before they're full. But I've never seen trash all over the course as James put it.
-Length of the holes could be an issue for some.
-The course lines are very straight forward. Not much options for risk/reward kind of shots

Other Thoughts:

I've always had a good time at Stony over the years. I'm glad to see two full 18 hole courses now. Definitely doesn't deserve a one disc review LOL.

Garbage but its got long holes!? 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 23, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Concrete tee pads.
Maintained fairly.
Didn't get lost due to fair mow job.
Long and short tee boxes on most holes (Not very clear).

Cons:

Trashy trash trash.
Expect trash to be near your disc on every throw; Yes there are trash cans, but your friendly community (that you pay services for) refuses to empty the trash bins on any hole so look forward to playing a very trashy round. Trash overflows on every teebox and, if your not lucky, every fairway and rough.
(okay its not every 5 feet but easily every 15 feet! have fun!)
This is a better maintained course than the South course *green course, but it is still in less than fair shape for a pay to play.
There are some 300' holes that are unaceable.
Signs are inaccurate.

Other Thoughts:

Go to Shady Oaks, you will be much more satisfied. This course needs a ton of work.
For a pay to play course It was highly disappointing.

I love this course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 1, 2016 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is a well maintained course. fun to play! I love the variety this course offers. Really talking about both courses. here. the tee pads are perfect sized. This is in a park and the maintenance crew and security are present. Signs at the course are very helpful. Next tee signs are great! I didn't get lost! Trash cans placed throughout the course.

Cons:

Well, maybe some other kind of challenges besides just long distances. This is a beginner friendly course. not really a "how am I going to get around this" course. it is a pay to play course, even though it isn't. You gotta pay to get on the park.

Other Thoughts:

This is one of my favorite courses.

Pros:

Aesthetic-- plays through a very very large metro park on the far north side of the Detroit suburbs (closer to flint). area is mostly disc golf exclusive.

Teepads-- HUGE. Even on the two holes under 200' the teepads are gigantic, level and in great repair.

Teesigns-- most tees (long and short) had teesigns. some were missing distances but they provided the essential information. the hole layout and par would have been nice but pull up the map on your smart phone. it's easy enough.

Routing and nav-- the "next tee" signs abound here. routing was so easy it was rediculous.

Balance-- this course is incredibly well balanced variety-- short and long are relatively well represented. not an over abundance of rights lefts or straight shots.

trash cans-- fairly well represented here. there was still a lot of trash all over the course but wasn't a huge deal.

Natural nature-- We saw a lot of deer on the way into the course and ran into a small group on #21, 22, 23(old course). We were able to get within about 10ft of them. It's a nice touch to be that close to nature.

Multiple tees/pins-- pretty sweet that many of the holes have multiple tees. nice to have a choice of where to throw from. the fact that #1 is the only hole with a "pro" pin, is a bit wonky... Not sure why they did this this way but whatever.

Cons:

Challenge-- the challenge in this course lies mostly in the huge lengths. Most of the holes aren't overly challenging except for the lengths.

Trash-- quite a bit of trash on the course. garbage cans were certainly being used but not enough apparently.

Vandalism-- definitely an issue here. a lot of graffiti on the signage and baskets.

Risk v Reward-- there is almost no risk v reward here. you don't even really have the choice of throwing over or around rough. lines are very defined.

Other Thoughts:

Definitely a great course. I know that some of my cons are harsh but they really are minor in my mind.
