Babbling Brook 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 9, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Most holes had two tee locations. "Nice" hazards - small stream, non-thick woods, providing some challenge but likely not causing disc loss.

Cons:

Most baskets, sometimes a bit difficult to see from a distance, are near a shallow stream - the type young kids like to play in. There are many picnic tables under the trees near this stream, too, so course could become unplayable if there are many families out enjoying the park. Tee locations are unmarked, small dirt patches with tiny bits of gravel, and can be a bit difficult to find. No tee signs nor distance information.

Other Thoughts:

Course is located in a large, rural park, and most of the baskets are located near the side of a very small brook. Fairly flat, the occasional tree to miss/tunnel to hit, mix of shots straight/right/left-turning initial drives needed. Guesstimate the distances to be in the 225'-325' range.

Navigation: From the parking lot, head downstream, stream on left, admin building on right - you will soon pass basket #2. Cross bridge to find a tee for #1 - the basket is barely up in the woods. After finishing #1, walk up to the hill you passed to find tee #2, throwing down to the basket by the creek. Return to the back corner of the parking lot and cross the stream to find tee #3. The obvious basket in front of you is #9 - basket #3 requires a right-turner and stays on this (right) side of the stream. Continue heading upstream (stream on left) to play holes 4-6, cross stream, and play 7-9 on your way back to parking lot.

The park has a nice, relaxing feel to it, and it was very calming to play - a good break if you're in the midst of a long roadtrip.

Pros:

Its not busy so no waiting for tee times

Cons:

Poor to no signage, Tees arnt well marked, Tees are just gravel pads with no forms around them not alot of differance from hole to hole

Other Thoughts:

Its a shame they didnt put more thought and effort into this course as the park itself is very nice and could be home to a great course
