Solid Place For A Lunch Break! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 18, 2021 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

TimkenSteel is one of the larger employers in Northeast Ohio. As a result, the campus of their World Headquarters is HUGE!

The green space on the east side of the property feels more like a city park than private property on the campus of a steel factory. There is an asphalt walking path complimented by scattered trees throughout the area.

The course was actually pretty well designed. While the property is mostly open, there are a few holes in which elevation and tree coverage make for some interesting drives and approaches.

Solid variety in distance, with all of the holes pretty spaced out from each other. Distances ranged from 238' to 491'.

Nice new DISCatcher baskets!

Cons:

I drove around the whole perimeter of TimkenSteel twice, and saw no signs about the course/trail being closed to the public. Just to be safe, I played after hours (around 6 pm). I'd recommend doing the same, as there were only a handful of cars in the parking lot. Kind of a "play at your own risk" type of deal.

There aren't any permanent tee pads, and the bricks in the ground with the hole number and direction are mostly grass covered. UDisc is a must here, as navigation is virtually impossible without it.

The first few holes and the last few holes play very close to the highway, so it can be noisy at times.

#9 loops back to #1, however there is no parking next to the first tee. Also worth noting that I couldn't find the tee markers for those holes either.

Low-hanging branches/limbs were blocking the basket on #6. This would have been one of my favorite holes if this weren't the case.

Other Thoughts:

I think it's great that there is a course at the world headquarters of TimkenSteel! It's easily accessible for employees via the back door of the workout room. They even have discs available in a plastic bin near the first tee!

Again, there aren't any signs indicating that the course is private, but whoever originally listed the course says it's only available to employees and their guests.
