Pros:
-- Easy access to the course, and free to play.
-- Maps, scorecards and pencils are plentiful in the large mailbox near hole 1.
-- Handy practice basket.
-- Beautiful looking course with meadows, streams, ponds and woods.
-- Large variety of holes and shots included in just nine holes.
-- Good use of elevation change, uphill and down.
-- Nice amenities
Cons:
-- The tees "boxes" are practically non-existent. Most of the blue tees are just a small worn patch of dirt with no room for a run up, and most of the white tees shown on the map don't seem to exist.
-- Poor signage, hard to navigate the first time (good thing they provide maps) but easy after you've been around it once.
-- A couple of the holes in the woods are "throw and hope" as there is no clear fair line and/or a blind shot from the tee.
Other Thoughts:
It was hard to give this course a numerical rating, because it really is a gorgeous little course with a remarkable amount of variety in just nine holes. In fact, playing twice around to make it an 18 hole outing kept our interest. But the condition of the tee areas was a big detraction. It's a shame, because with just a little bit of work on the tees, this could be a great course. Overall I had fun, and I'll come back to play it again.
