Pros:
I gave it 3 stars because it was still unfinished and missing 5 holes as of August 22nd 2020. It was a fun course though and worth a drive if you want to get away.
Tee Boxes - Sturdy Wood boxes
Baskets - The baskets were recently installed MVP Black Hole Gravity baskets, very nice.
Location is in the deep woods of Maine, very scenic venture into the woods.
Holes were mostly challenging but not difficult either.
Course signs were accurate, wooden boards and pencil.
Won't have to wait for other groups because it's somewhat remote.
$5 to play all day
Cons:
The course looks like it was built on old logging roads, there are big piles of lumber / firewood you don't want to lose a disc in. It's a real forest, lots of dense underbrush off the fairway you don't want to lose a disc in. Spot them as best you can. The fairways were fairly wide though so I didn't have that much trouble. It's not a steep course with lots of climbing but most paths are lumpy. It's what you would expect from a real forest in Maine.
Other Thoughts:
It's pretty deep in the Maine woods, but only a couple hours from Portland. Lots of exits between Newport and Bangor will get you there. Any map app makes finding these places pretty easy nowadays. It's not a very populated part of the state, but it's a beautiful area. Bangor, Dexter and Guilford are all in that area. It's a good stop over on the way to Mount Katahdin or downeast. Stock up on drinks on the way there's not a lot of stores within 5 miles of the course as far as I know. There's lots of fishing, hunting, camping, atvs, snowmobiles going on in that area so you'll come across a lot of gas stations on the way up.
I played fairly early in the day and there wasn't anyone else on the course. $5 honor box, there's a trailer but I'm not sure about anything like a pro shop there. Maybe on the near future. The first hole is off to the right and has a big Innova flag. Once you find that the rest of the course is fairly easy to navigate. I would definitely come check it out again to play a full 18. I would think there's enough land to put a more challenging course as well. It's pretty much virgin forest in Maine. Great place to get away from civilization.
The course difficult was average, mostly in the 250-350 foot range with slight dog legs or angles. All par 3s and 4s. Fairways were fairly wide, but off the fairway it can get pretty dense and difficult. Definitely want to see this course finished.
