Community course, best left to new players 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 14, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Well maintained public park
- Despite being custom built baskets with a single row of chains, they seem to catch a disc well
- Easy enough to be accessible to new players, but enough play through trees to provide a bit of a challenge, too.
- Individual tee signs accurately illustrate each hole.

Cons:

- Raised tee pads are a tripping hazard unless you can contain your follow-through
- Lots of blind shots and holes that play close to each other. Several holes require approaching without having a line of sight to the basket. If this park/course is ever busy, you'll need to play with a lot of caution.
- Baskets are set quite high. For younger/shorter players, putting upwards and retrieving discs could be challenging.
- Way finding could use some improvement. There is no course map at the start, and no indicator of next tee direction. The tees are close enough to the previous basket that it's relatively intuitive, though.

Other Thoughts:

Not a bad little community course to get players interested in the game, and I'll bring a disc for a quick nine when I visit my old hometown. But there's not a whole lot to get excited about for an experienced player. The handful of annoyances like the tee boxes, high baskets, and awkward layout may frustrate you more than is worth enduring.
