Wellfield Park DGC is one of those technical, easy, uniquely frustrating, wonderful little recreational courses that I happen to love while you more serious types complain about and plead for more distance. Although very short, with only hole, # 3 in the long position, as long as 200'. Most are around 150' while # 6 is under 100'.

The course starts right beside the tennis/pickleball courts. (Folks were playing pickleball this morning). There is a nice big course sign with a map and distances. The tee pads are concrete, a little on the small side, although you won't need any run-up here. The tee signs are simple little blue ones made from some composite material. They give you the basic information needed, par, hole # and two distances, although there is no way of knowing which position the basket is currently in. The baskets are Discatchers with the yellow band and small number. What! No Chainstars??

Even with these short holes, I had to walk ahead on a couple of holes to find the basket. The first four holes play through a normal wooded terrain. Then you get to the Brazilian Pepper tree forest and things got way more interesting and fun. These Brazilian Pepper trees have branches that grow off horizontally in every direction making for some delightful fairways, approaches and basket placements. Check out Wellsbranch's awesome picture of the # 7 hole. Don't let the ultra short distances fool you, this course's technical nature adds to the challenge.

Once you accept this as a very short, enjoyable, technical recreational course, there isn't much in the way of Cons. It's a pretty little course and the Brazilian Pepper trees are the highlight feature.

Although tight and technical, I believe beginners would enjoy the jungle like feel of the course. It's absolutely unique with these tangled, twisty trees providing the challenge here. I loved it, would love to have it near me and would love to give it a 4.0 but I know that's not going to happen so I'll go with it the more pedestrian like rating of 2.5.

The old Pinebrook course gets some new holes and signage and a new name!

About half of the holes are still in the Brazilian Pepper tree forest and the other half are now in a more traditional lightly wooded disc golf location. I would say that the new design is an improvement and offers more diversity than the previous layout. It is also more fun to play now and a little less of a novelty course.

The course has concrete tees and nice tee signs. Amenities are here such as modern restrooms, adequate seating etc.

The course is on the short side but offers more challenge than an open field rec course.

A nice clean little course, in a nice clean park, in a nice clean neighborhood! Easy to get to from I-75, and easy to bag or get in a leg stretching round if driving by.
