Pretty fun little pitch and putt full of palm trees drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 10, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ Nice variety between holes. A few are mostly open while others have fairly narrow gaps to hit. There's a small stream in play along a few of the holes but it isn't difficult to avoid with the way the holes are layed out. The holes are generally pretty easy to birdie but the lines are fun.

+ Pretty course. It's jammed full of large palm trees that offer shade from the hot climate. There's a pretty awesome variety of wildlife, with brown anoles, white ibis, frogs and other creatures crawling around.

+ Shaded benches, a small playground consisting of swings and some parallel bars, a volleyball court, tennis courts and a basketball court round out the amenities.

+ The design utilizes the property well. Since it's only 6 holes I'll give a description of each:

#1 - 119' Very short hole that's wide open, though there's a water hazard to the right and a dense patch of trees to the left, which makes the hole more interesting than its tiny distance should warrant.

#2 - 171' Starts open then turns into a tightly wooded fairway with a fair sized gap directly to the basket. The hole that reminded me most of my Carolina style courses back home.

#3 - 253' Basket is placed about 10' right of a tennis court fence, with a couple of large trees directly between the tee and pin. There's an obvious RHBH hyzer route with a bit of a gap to hit, and an option for a rhfh line as well. There's a ~4' or so slope in the middle of the fairway that could mess with roller lines.

#4 304' A generously wide 'tunnel' shot. Palmettos on the left guard all but the ugliest of shots from going into the stream, while there's some woods to the right. Fairway is very flat with bits of sand and grass, making rollers and skip shots worth considering. I opted for a low laser flick with a Reactor and got a nice skip up to the circle.

#5 263' Short shot that's pretty similar to the last hole, just a bit shorter with the rough reversed. Stream to the right and woods on your left. #4's basket and a decent sized tree form the left side of the 'tunnel' feel of this hole. In fact this is the perfect hole for a black ace, which I managed on my first shot.

#6 187' For me this was a nice hole for a rhfh flick with a mid. There's a bit of a low ceiling, with a tennis court fence along the left of the fairway and the stream to the right. Basket is tucked just out of view from the tee towards the right. Another fairway like the previous two with a window style gap, just much wider than Carolina style golf.

Cons:

- Hole 2 plays a bit close to the playground. A bad kick could send it over that way.

- Only 6 holes.

- None of the holes are particularly challenging. None are over 305' and a couple are under 200'.

Other Thoughts:

This course is exactly what I was looking for while on vacation with family not particularly interested in throwing a course. It wasn't too out of the way from I95 en route to Cape Canaveral, it was very quick to play, and the playground was a welcome amenity. We got in and out in 15 minutes, which included me taking the time to film my round. Had the park to ourselves except for an older solo golfer finishing up as we pulled in.

The course isn't anything amazing and isn't destination level, but it's fun and worth stopping by if you're going down I95 past Titusville and have an extra half hour in your schedule. We hit it up on the way to the Kennedy Space Center and enjoyed our little detour.

Doesn't look like there's any room to make it a full 9, so don't expect the course to grow in the future.

I enjoyed this course more than some other 9 holes I've recently played, like Western Union Elementary and Marvin Effird Park in Waxhaw, NC, and Halo DGC in Whitesburg, TN. For such a short course with only 6 holes it was pretty cool.
