What was the first course you ever played?

Starr-Jaycee part in Royal Oak. I remembered it from when I was a kid and wondering what those baskets were for. As someone that had never played before I figured it was nice open and flat. So less chance of losing discs and not having to wander around in the forest looking for stuff.

The first course I played was Knoch Knolls in Naperville, IL with borrowed discs. I had fun, but for whatever reason I didn't pick up a disc again for 4 or so years.

In 2006, I picked up a few discs from the local big box sporting goods store. We headed out to Central Park in Oak Brook, IL and were quickly hooked. Over that first summer, I was out at the course at least 5 days a week. Wish I had that kind of time now.

Shady Oaks in Orangevale, CA. Some of the holes are still the same as they were in 1992.

Same here, still my local and favorite course. Except my first round was in 2004 and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I literally brought a large ultimate frisbee out there.

Raintree Park, Troy MI

same, in 1982, playing with ultimate discs. by round three we had "invented" the roller for the long 300 ft. hole . . . fast forward 16 years to 1998:

i got taken to Brown Park in Ann Arbor (RIP) and was given a purple dx panther and it was on!

Me too.....sort of....went to school there and played one afternoon with a regular frisbee way back in the 80s.

Actual real intention of playing disc golf was at Druid Hill this past February.
Same here, went there for 8th grade. We started with just regular frisbees then had a couple beat up ones that we found in the woods.

A now-extinct course on U. of Southern Miss's lakeside property west of town, in 1982.

Zilker Park. Austin

Now that Roy G. is up and running it will be nice to see if Bart and Zilker can get some love. PARD has been great in recent years with redesign at Searight and the additions of Circle C and Roy G. I heard from some Waterloo guys that a Bart redesign is in the mix that will include a total park overhaul. Can't wait to watch the continued growth of this wonderful sport in this awesome town.

Used to play Boone Woods - Old Layout a ton when I first started. 3 disc, 150 class starter set and I would run between shots quite a bit. I played there exclusively for probably a solid year to year and a half before someone told me about Banklick/Lincoln Ridge, which is now the course I'm the closest to and play the most.

First pole hole course: the old Burns Park course in North Little Rock, Ark., in 1981.

Played object courses I laid out myself at various places in Fayetteville, Ark., from 1979 to 1981, mostly Butterfield Trail Elementary.
