Disc golf on the Travel Channel

"this is your putter"

????? looked like a monarch to me, sure putt with drivers

I think he meant that more figuratively.. "putt with this".. rather than saying that the disc itself is a "putter". Good promo for the sport, though. I definitely think ski lodges with lifts are prime opportunities for pay-to-play courses.. essentially every ski lift here in Oregon sets up a course on the slopes in the Summer.

^^^ yeah that sounds like a great location for the course, and plenty of available land during the off season.

I love it. You can see the guy giving the tour just wants to get the hell out of there and the other dude is like "just give me one more, im gonna get it in there".

What show was that for? The guy realy could have done such a better job introducing the host to DG. It is allmost insulting that he owns a course. It seems like if he would have gotten a few disc golfers out there to show the host a little more about the game, other than "throw it in there", it could have done alot to promote both disc golf and the guys resort.

This was for "Hotel Impossible." The bald dude goes and shakes up failing hotels by doing a little renovation, and kicking management's butt, so they know how to save their hotels. That's why he said that showcasing DG was a good way to turn the hotel around.

I watch this show with my wife all the time. I never saw this episode though. That's so cool to see that course on there.

I appreciate that Anthony took it completely seriously and kind of berated the owner/tour guide for not having a clue about it. There are a lot of these "save my business" type shows out there now and the hosts are generally very critical. They have to be, to help turn around failing businesses. So to see this guy totally jump on the guy for not promoting it is sweet!

It was "Hotel Impossible", by the way. Edit: Oops, Big Sky beat me to it.

I felt the same about it. I was really happy to see Anthony makeing comments about how the guy should know if there are world championships for it. Haven't they been right down the road at Highbridge Hills before? Forgive me if I'm mistaken about that.

^ this. It was obvious the tour host had little more than a clue about the game. As Director of Sales, he doesn't have to be an avid player, but he should be able to speak intelligently about anything he might be able to use to market his hotel/resort to prospective clients.

Exactly. And I'm sure that there were some local players around that area that would have come out and helped him with it if he would have thought about it ahead of time. Offer them a free round or 2 if they show around the Travel Chanel guy around the course and teach him a little bit about DG. Could have made a great promotion for both the course and the sport.

Telemark is a fantastic course, played it a couple summers ago. It was a ghost town, NOBODY but our group of 9 people on the ENTIRE property. We stopped here on our way to spending 4 days at Highbridge. Telemark has extreme hills, beautiful scenery, and is totally worth playing. Our entire group loved the experience and our only bad comment was that the grass in some areas was neck high (and I'm 6'3"). I'm not sure how you even mow massive hills and slopes on a ski hill but it did make finding your disc very difficult. Great to see the course, the property, and dg get a little air play!

^ I can't even comprehend 6' tall grass! You sure you didn't stumble into a cornfield? :p

Hey I helped put those baskets in! Course is not maintained I've heard. We used to have a large fall tourney ther each year.

Looks like the grass was pretty high on that green. Did they have any luck turning the hotel/resort around?

Were the course and hotel maintained better back then? I watched some of the other clips and the hotel is not maintained well either, the owner is a DB to his employees, and nobody seems to really enjoy working there. It looks like it used to be a 5 star hotel that has gone horribly downhill. The airstrip looked like it's maintained well though.

that was awesome. now I want ro go play a round with my teebird only. but I can't because its raining and I can't take my 3 yr old out for an hour and a half in the rain. :/
