Earlier on there was a thread about Latitude 64 manufacturing a dimpled disc. It has now been named Missilen (Swedish for Missile, duh) and on it's way for PDGA approval. See the Latitude 64 Facebook page for an image of the disc, which looks like a distance driver (no permission if not logged in).

Here's the picture.

Who is the biggest arm on the Latitude or Westside or DD team? I wanna see someone bomb this bad boy and see if it works as advertised. Wonder how it feels in the hand?

Feldberg (Lat64) or McCabe (DD) could get that thing moving and crush a few drives with it I am sure. The concept seems pretty neat but only time will tell if the PDGA approves this design and how it flies.

I think Miles Seaborn or Robbie Olson. Both are known to be bombers.

Robbie Olson for sure I'd say but they sponsor a couple younger guys in Sweden that are lesser known over here and I've heard they are bombers.

It looks pretty sweet. Very smart to do a limited first run in decodye. Those will go quick. I don't need one but I like that they are expanding into other areas of ideas.

There's two non-dimpled thumb pads on top of the disc.

I was wondering just this. With such small dimples right where your thumb needs to be it would be unsafe to assume that your grip would suffer because of less contact area meeting your thumb.

However, and possibly over-thinking this, but could there be a possibility that the non-dimpled thumb pads create an uneven surface area (the surface area being enlarged because of the effect of the dimples) which would negate any positive effect of the dimples creating a larger surface area?

I'm curious about this idea too.

The name missile is obviously appropriate for a disc...but my superstitious-type side wonders if I wouldn't like seeing the word "miss" pulling out a disc for a drive.

I see you talk about big bombers. I would say Lat64 team member Carl Ulvinen in Sweden is one of real big bombers in the team. He´s a real beast. I think he threw a Stiletto over 600 feet

That's one I was talking about. There is another young guy I think over there just on the team who throws a long way too. Don't know his name.

It's PDGA Approved. 2.5 rim 21.4 wide. So a bit larger size (same as River) with a Boss sized rim. Not a disc I will purchase right away but interested to hear some reviews.
