I'm bored and a little curious. Have you ever played Ultimate Frisbee and how old are you?

I'll start, got PE credit for Ultimate in Granada hills, CA (1977-1978).

I played competitively in high school around 2007 but have only played a few times since. Played some bigger tournament and did pretty well. We were all 17 and under and beat several really good teams.

The question doesn't specify how often. I only played less than a handful of times in college at least thirty years ago, but I have played!

I played either College, Club, or league from 2006-2012. I still play pick up but have enough time to play as much as I use to.

Does this include pick up games? Or only organized competition? I've played quite a bit of pick up, and even still do on occasion though I can't run very well any more, I just kind of limp my way around the field and huck it farther than anyone else..

I played a lot at one point in HS and college, and even now I play a bit. In not quite 30 but close, and though my surgically repaired legs are slow, they appreciate someone who can hit a target in the end zone most of the time.

The only issue I ever have is when people insist on playin with beat up Ultra Stars. I like the new more OS UF discs.

I started playing in college in '03 as a junior. Played in recreational leagues and on traveling teams (male and co-ed) until '08 or so. I ran multiple leagues during this time and served on a executive board for an ultimate organization, so I was in pretty deep. Quit because 1) the game had become a lot more aggressive with the influx of athletes from other sports which, in turn, led to more "incidental" contact and 2) I learned that I hate team sports. I am also slow, short, and lacking in jumping ability, so wrong skill set for the game.

A guy I played with (who I have seen listed in some disc golf tourney results) would invite us all out to tournaments but I never really considered disc golf. Didn't start playing dg until '15.

People have commented that my ultimate background shows through in my form, in not a good way. There are some shots, as a lefty, that transfer effectively over from ultimate, like a forehand anhyzer upshot.

I never even heard of ultimate until joining DGCR.

Well, ok - hasn't everyone under 30 played ultimate in gym class at least once? Who are these 2 20-30 people that have never played ultimate?

Or is "I played ultimate" supposed to mean you played it competitively/frequently? I assumed it meant ever.

My kids have played it in middle school, and I've heard a lot of guys in their 20's and early 30's say the same. So maybe it's more for the younger generation. You look at Brodie Smith and his following on YouTube, it's all millennials.

Even played on the club team in college.. was better at DG anyways and I could do that whenever I pleased so it took priority.

A played a lot of casual games with friends in high school. This was almost 20 years ago, long before I discovered disc golf.
